Despite the fact Weevil cheated by asking that kid to sneak off with Joey’s duel disk to sneak that Parasite Paracide card into his deck, Joey still won and Weevil deserved to lose. Espa Roba was a phony and Weevil was a cheater. Mako was the only opponent Joey faced in battle city that was an honorable duelist.

​@@murderofcrows5089 I mean, he has plenty of bad luck too, he barely managed to beat Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth despite his dice combo giving him fairly high odds of success. Joey just happens to live the gambler's fallacy "eventually my luck will turn for the better and I'll win." What was really cool was watching him evolve to combine his luck with strategy to better manipulate the odds and overcome his weaknesses (like the fact that he has limited access to decent cards.)

@bloodCount8895 Sadly, Joey wasn't rich like Kaiba or didn't have a grandpa who owned a card shop Kaiba bought any card he needed whilst Yugi got anything he needed from his grandpa, Joey Sadly had no such luxury and even with this scrub deck as you called it he won a lot of duels

I get that Joey was the underdog in the anime but it never made sense why he would choose cards like battle warrior atk1000 & swordsman of landstar Atk500 to stay in his deck over other 4 star monsters like armored lizard Atk1500 or Axe Raider Atk1700.

He kept landstar for the graceful dice plays, he also still played axe raider as shown in the 4 way duel between the battle city finalists. Battle warrior is a weird one, but I have a feeling it was due to shield and sword plays, also due to the fact that it helped him win a duel in duelist Kingdom.

He’s poor, Joey plays with mostly common cards because that’s all her really had between being a rookie and unable to afford better cards. His deck does gradually get better throughout battle city and duelist kingdom onward though

Because he likes warrior monsters. Armored lizards&axe raider are rather standard, at least back in the times. As for landstar and ultimator, the reason could be that while they are warriors, they also synergize with the anime version of Angel Dice

I don't think you can alter the position of tokens in the OG anime through normal means. I think you need spells, traps or monster effects to do so.

​@@aaronjahmar85421. When Weevils Flying Kamakiri was destroyed during his own Battle Phase and he summoned a monster with 1500ATK, he could have still used it to attack Joey's Swordsman of Landstar. Joey wouldn't have had a tribute for Jinzo. 2. When Weevils summoned Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, he could have attacked Parasite Paracide that was in attack mode for game instead of Alligator Sword in defense. Joey had not yet set Graceful Dice this turn. 3. Weevil sacrificed Legul for Insect Queen to attack, but could have attacked directly with Legul first. And should instead sacrificed Insect Soldier of the sky to keep using Legul for direct attacks. And during that attack, he attacked Tiny Guardian instead of Parasite Paracide, which would be game. 4. Also, Weevil never puts his Queen's eggs in defense mode, nor use them as tributes for his Queen's attacks. Just a bunch of reckless, thoughtless plays.
