Even though this Pure Thunder Dragon list is from YCS Fort Worth, Thunder Dragon was completely untouched by the October 2019 banlist, and lists nearly identical to this will be top tier contenders. Jovanny is also a good friend of mine, and I wanted him to share his insights for anyone looking to pick up the deck for the new format!

I played against this dude 3rd round. Sadly I bricked first round and I got obliterated. 2nd round I could've won if I banished core and attacked directly w cyber dragon. Then he just ended my whole career.

You can also make Colossus instead of Titan under Apollousa If you search Duo instead of Fusion off of Dark. No need for OG. You'll always have a light and dark in grave too.

bro... activate some summer summoner, if you have an additional thunder monster in hand, special any thunder in your grave. This can give you 2 options. 1. you can have an apollousa with 4 negates and a titan. 2. contact fuse whatever you brought out into colossus along with having a 3 negate apollousa, and Titan. of course it all depends on what you open with, but i you have a thunder dragon, solar, and hawk in hand i see this as the better play because you can active thunder dragon add 2 more to hand. and then discard one that you added for some summers effect. recycle the 2 in graveyard for for titan pops next turn, or if youre going 2nd you have an immediate free 2 pops.

I just thought of something that might be a 200iq play (Going Second). You could link into Galaxy Satellite Dragon and XYZ into Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. Then move to battle phase and activate Satellite to bump up Tachyon to 10700 ATK. Then use Tachyons effect to negate all effects on the field and swing for like 5000 damage.

Your Thunder Dragons??? LOL! Half of my LGS opponents are playing thunder since soul fusion was released, and there are always thunder list in top 64, it's already way overplayed, just a bit weaker than SS or Orcust, so don't try to sell the archetype like if it was a rogue deck or something.

Dale Williams d shifter is decent, but absolutely broken at 3 for turn 0. Then if you can banish it after from the grave to empty the grave, you can keep using it. Not a bad tech if you can make it work.

Could you explain to me why shifter is so good in thunder? I've seen a lot of lists with shifter being main decked and I noticed it was missing from this list as well, but I'm not totally sure why it's so popular with other thunder players.

Danger Jackalope it slows down or even stops most graveyard based decks(orcust and salamangreat, slows striker) and makes all your discards or send to grave effects banish your monsters instead, letting you use the thunder effects! So batteryman would banish instead, giving you the thunder effects for free pretty much lol

You want your thunders effect to go off and the only way to do that is if you have a batteryman solar and a hawk. What if you didnt have a hawk? If you had a shifter, instead of batteryman sending roar to grave, it would be banished and its effect would go off. Also shifters effect last until the end of your opponents turn so it slows them down as well. Especially orcusts, strikers, salamangreats etc. The only downside here is that you pretty much lose your protection from destruction since all your thunder dragon monsters are in the banished pile.

I understand why you wanted to release a video like this, and allow your friend to showcase their Tier 1 Deck, but it's unfortunate to see content like this one your channel. Nothing against the guy at all, and I'm sure all of the competitive players understood this video perfectly... But I doubt most of the casual players were able to follow this video. He just layed out the cards, and didn't even name a lot of them. He explained his card choices a little, but not too much. If it's not too much to ask, I'd love to see a more in depth deck profile or tutorial. Maybe as your next 4 part guide series?

Colossus to 2 would make a lot of sense in stopping insane turn 1 boards, and maybe dragon dark to 2 as well would still let them function but just hurt their grind game and consistency (they are kinda bricky anyway already)
