Software engineer here. I can elaborate on the explanation of RNG manipulation at 1:03:00 Basically, computers are not capable of generating random numbers; they are purely deterministic machines. So to generate a number that's "random enough," the next random number in the sequence is typically based on the previous random number (using the previous number as a "seed" value.) A lot of older video games advance this "random" number every frame, or, as Christian himself mentioned, when certain actions are taken (such actions often include reading the random number for use by other parts of the code.) Sometimes combining both methods, making it quite difficult to manipulate without frame perfect timing. Christian wondered if they still do it this way or if it's truly random now. Short answer: yes, they still do it this way. It's technically possible to generate a truly random number (usually using background radio noise), but this requires special hardware, and this hardware is not standard in any computer on the planet. Modern software usually has a separate RNG object which keeps track of the last used random seed, but it's essentially done the same way (i.e. it's still deterministic and, if you know the game's code, it's potentially manipulable.) This is also true for any software you may use that involves random numbers, not just video games.

A thing I like to do to make the early game easier is to grind for Joey's high defence monsters. They allow you to setup pretty easily for tribute summons and if uou want to go the extra mile and reach level 121 you can go with the baby dragon / time wizard combo. Only issue it is pretty heavy on earth monsters.

Christian, I just noticed something about this game: You can activate trigger effects only as long as the monster is face down. If you use a card like inexperienced spy, the cards will be revealed and can't be put face down, so you cannot activate the effect. So you could theoretically stop effects like the Beast King of the Swamp going off and the card has 0 cost, so it's something you can put in if you're hurting for capacity

I was watching back during the first playthrough, but i dropped off when other Yu-Gi-Oh games were being played. I was completely lost by all the terminology. Trying to keep up with what each card does got really hard when 5-6 different ones were going off each turn. The pace and simplicity of this game makes it much more comprehensive for newcomers. Mix that with actual challenge and it becomes really fun to watch. That's probably why so many people came to watch the first stream and the vod.

Asprey something I learned is that larvae moth, cocoon, and the great moths are all set to 255 lvl only one that isn't is petite moth. To make it viable either lots of traps or maybe swords or revealing light, but knowing this game that's probably set at lvl 300

Been playing through this again with minimal grinding (though having to refight some areas, like the marathon to Paradox in China). Finally made it to the Chevalsky/Reshef double battle and it is a tough one. EDIT: I legitimately beat Sacred Cards while watching this VOD.

1:09:50 I've heard tons of horror stories about canceling gym memberships. Stuff like having to mail a letter. Yes, snail mail a letter. Just banking on all those New Years signups being too lazy to go through it. I wonder if a gym could succeed on advertising that it's easy to cancel a membership. Maybe attract all those New Years signups on the promise that they won't be scammed. I'm glad I've never had a gym membership. I advocate for working out with no to little equipment. Machines are nice and all, but there's plenty you can do with just your body. A home gym setup is not necessary.

Equipment is useful if you're actually into working out but if you get your exercise due to everyday movement then it doesn't matter

@@kinnikuboneman Exactly. I see a gym membership or home gym as a "I really like doing this" kind of thing. The point I'm trying to make is that some people think you need to spend money to get fit, and use that as an excuse. You don't necessarily need to even buy workout clothes. Unless all you own are three-piece suits, or something.

For some people, being surrounded by others who are working out can be a way to motivate themselves. Especially if you go to the gym together. But it can also be a deterrent. There are some gyms that make it easier to cancel, but you really have to do your homework.

Flame Swordsman actually got some support fairly recently part of it being new versions called the Fighting Flame Swordsman and Ultimate Flame Swordsman. It focuses on getting Flame Swordsman or fusion monsters that mention him out fairly easily while also just supporting FIRE Warriors. It's not particularly good, but I think it's kinda neat.

Someone has probably already said it, but the recent set "Maze of Millenia" Did do retrains for Flame Swordsman and basically made it a full archetype now which is cool, Flame Swordsman is one of the coolest OG cards for sure.

I feel like bashing your head against a wall to beat a character for the first time because it will give you 3 deck capacity instead of 1 isn't as efficient as just steam rolling another character that is easier repeatedly. Is Mako an achievement? Edit: Wait why did he only give you 1 deck capacity? This game is stupid.

Bro I gotta be like 4 hours into my play through and the majority of my deck is still 700 monsters and a handful of battle traps. Beating Rex was pure luck LMAO. I love this. Currently building towards a perfectly ultimate great moth deck. Grinding rewards gets better after neo ghouls story from what I’ve read.

I always grind on the neo ghoul witch appears if u click on that guy who is laying on the ground in the city he has a very weak deck and gives good money

@@woutvandekaart8927 just go to that part. I’ll have to start that. I have probably 100 wins against Yugi atm. I want to eventually make some videos for KZbin around the hall of eternity range. But the neo ghouls chapter and extreme jump is wild. Every normal summon they have is typically better than my tribute summmoned cards at this point lol

The cards from that guy only have 1000-1200 attack he if u have cards who boost in dark its easy :) 200-300 easy domino

@@woutvandekaart8927 yeah I know. I’m grinding super hard on yugi to max out my trap line up which means my monsters are suffering very hard atm. Only need to buy one more wide spread and maybe start using codes for infinite dismissal. Tristan will NOT drop these to save my life. I know all drops get better just after this chapter but I’m trying to max out on petite moth uses atm as I am also doing a NO god card run. Turns out it’s pretty difficult to beat and already insane game.
