If synchro summoning got re-introduced they would probably get more details on its past. To me it feels like the theory fits better with saying that people forcefully denied that synchros exist because of the trouble they caused but once they were introduced safely again they had no reason to anymore

A well-known user of a technique that has become obsolete and has been forgotten for years. Yusei is basically what Nicolau Flamel is to alchemy, everyone at least knows about the philosopher's stone that he theoretically created but hardly anyone knows about alchemy because it's not useful. The same applies to Yusei, the user of a form of summoning that was innovative but remained a relic of the past until it was revived.

Cool theory thou think it makes more sense that synchros just dont exist in this timeline. This is a theory from yugioh everything Zexal dose connect to duel monsters and gx but not 5ds. In zexal both the legendary monsters and darkness are proof. Darkness mentioned a card that created the universe like in zexal. The timeline split after gx. Do you really think everone single person is gonna stop using synchros no people still use rituals even thought they are out classed. Plus no card games on motorcycles

In the Manga, it’s regarded that Yusei would join the ranks amongst the Kings in terms of the greatest duelists to ever live. So I wouldn’t say that Yusei is just a footnote in history especially since he was considered the new King in Yugioh 5DS making him go down in history in both the anime and the manga. On top of that in Yugioh Arc V, there’s a course called Synchro Summoning in the Fudo style. Because that’s the case, he’s definitely a historical figurehead and one of the greatest duelists to ever live in the entire series. In fact, I would say that he’s the one that invented XYZ Summoning. There’s a whole theory on that in which you made. All in all, he’s much more than a footnote in history. He’s a literal King of Games.

Let's not forget that Synchros stopped appearing in booster packs for a while until judgment of the light That said, Synchros do exist in Zexal. They just don't appear onscreen. We see a tuner monster in episode 1 and they appear I the d team Zexal manga.

Here's my timeline; DM: 1996 GX: Eight years later, begins in 2004, goes until Judai/Jaden graduates in 2007 5D's: The _earliest_ 5D's could happen is 2007, and there's a reason I'm doing this. Zero Reverse happens in late 2007. Eighteen years later, in 2025, 5D's begins, then ends two years later in 2027. ZEXAL: Runs concurrent with 5D's. We don't see any Team 5D's statues in Roku's shrine because, while they're popular at the time, Yusei isn't legend status yet. ARC-V: Ruins everything, I shoved it into its own universe for reasons. VRAINS: The writers say it begins in 2027, ten years after it airs in 2017, and that just so happens to coincide with 5D's ending in 2027 at its earliest, so it checks out. SEVENS: I actually think SEVENS is an in-universe anime funded by Kaiba Corporation to teach kids about Duel Monsters (hence why there's a guy with Blue-Eyes in it) but it's too early to tell right now. Might do a video myself on this when I get my microphone. But why are there no Synchros in ZEXAL? I have a few points on that; - Momentum was solved by Yusei creating the Fortune program at the end of 5D's, which effectively prevented Momentum from gaining sentience and ever producing Meklords, so Synchro Monsters are no longer a problem. - Fads. Synchros are popular in 5Ds because the Momentum reactor powers Neo Domino City. It doesn't power the entire world (or Zero Reverse would have been a global catastrophe and not just in one city). Xyz Monsters are popular in Heartland for... Konami marketing purposes. - Heartland probably uses AR over holograms because holograms are disruptive to civilian life. Neo Domino culture has had holograms for ages, so they're used to it. Heartland on the other hand looks like am amusement park kind of utopia (pun not intentional) and the people there probably aren't as widely accustomed to seeing holograms duke it out while they're driving and whatnot, so they have duelists use AR to contain it and make it so it's not as disruptive to daily life.

Fun fact: at 1:06 there is a flying Dark Tuner Nightmare Hand. This means that tuners, or most importantly Dark Tuners are exists in the Zexal universe. What if in Zexal the Synchro monsters are devolved into Dark Synchro monsters, becouse they are the complete opposite of Synchro monsters. Maybe the instant destroction of Synchro monsters were inposible, so the humans started to devolve them, by using their unique method to devolve the Synchros. If you watch their animation closely, you can see that the Dark Tuner become one with the other monster. It's just my head canon, also your theories are fire!

Or what if since dark synchro monsters were the reverse they started using them to balance out regular synchro monsters. I mean it would make sense to use the inverse. Another possibility is that xyz and synchro were forming at the same time and one was more popular over another in certain areas.

Thanks to your theories I now think that the world of yugioh isn’t as unrealistic as I thought Duel monsters was originally shadow games, summoning actual spirits to battle Pegasus opened the door for them to return and thanks to the millennium items duel spirits can come into cards as they please The people of this world found tangible magic and with science bent it to become energy, so of course all of society would revolve around it It’s what happened to us when radio waves started were invented

Yugioh has a multiverse theory, in Vrains follows the original timeline up to excluding Pendulums since that is what I believe at least. Yugi, Jaden, Yusei and Yuma all existed in Vrains timeline but Yuya are in another universe entirely. I would say that Vrains is like Standard from Arc-V just without Pendulums. Now for Rush Duels I say that's Yuga is in entirely different universe but diverging from the main game, so I say sometime after Yugis and Jaden's adventures existed in this timeline but all previous protags did not exist, unless they add some extra deck monsters to rush duels, but I don't believe that will happen. The way I see is if the Summoning Mechanic exists within that universe the adventures happened. This is before watching the video. My theory why there is no SHINKRO SHOKAN happening in Zexal. Apparently Yuma mentioned Stardusto, and Roku knew about Synchro Summoning somehow. Here's what I think is going on overall. In every Universe at least Yami/Yugis adventures had to happen since that's where the lore comes from but then it diverges during the time of Zexal as it exists in the universe in Zexal, but the world of Zexal and in fact of the matter every yugioh series usually takes place in one city, this is where I believe it's inaccurate to say there is a timeline diverging since we know synchro Summoning exists within the universe of Zexal what I believe is that Heartland City is in the future within the timelines of Yugi, Jaden, and Yusei, but that XYZs baiscally took over as the new summoning mechanic within Heartland City, and some other parts of the world, but in other parts we have people who still use Synchro Summoning.

My brother and I have always theorised that the destruction of the original Ener-D reactor actually took the lives of Seto Kaiba and Yugi Muto. We know that they should still be alive, given that it is confirmed that Trudge was the same person who bullied Yugi at school. This places Yugi and Kaiba in their 40's-50's. If there was some kind of experiment involving the energy born from duel monsters, it makes sense that Kaiba and Yugi would be involved, with Kaiba overseeing it in some capacity, and Yugi perhaps warning Kaiba not to mess with things he doesn't understand. So if they were present at the time of the explosion, they would have both met their untimely end in the same catastrophe that orphaned Yusei Fudo. The main reason I believe they died in this event, is this; it makes no sense that Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba, two of the most accomplished duelists the world has ever seen, didn't step into action when the dark signers began using duel monsters to kill people. As soon as the Earthbound Immortals started appearing over cities, Yugi and Kaiba would have certainly been on the front lines fighting against them. Otherwise, where are they? I know Yusei and company are the one's we focus on for story reasons, but IN UNIVERSE it doesn't make sense. There is more to this theory but this comment is long enough. Maybe if you wanna make a video out of this, shoot me a message and I'll go into more detail. TL;DR: The original Ener-D reactor explosion that killed Yusei's parents, also killed Yugi and Kaiba.

In-Universe it doesn't make sense but I don't think it's supposed to, lol. They're just passing it off like "they're a thing of the past now just doin' their own thing". The characters who appeared in the previous shows won't be given much spotlight (if any at all) outside of references since their stories are done for the most part and they're no longer the main focus. That whole "why are Yugi and Kaiba absent during the Dark Signer attacks" question could literally be asked of every character that appeared in DM and GX minus the ones that are already dead. Where was Joey? He's aiming to be a pro duelist using his Red-Eyes cards and wouldn't just sit around watching. Where was Marik, Ishizu, and Odion? Yeah they left to Egypt for a new life after the defeat of Yami Marik, but surely something on the scale of the Dark Signer attacks would catch their attention, especially since it involves ancient power that they were unaware of as it has nothing to do with Ancient Egypt. Where was Jaden during the Dark Signer arc? He absolutely would of taken the quickest route to the Dark Signers to stop them immediately upon seeing these attacks go on -- or did he die too, even though he's traveling all throughout the world? What about Syrus? Zane? Hassleberry? Alexis? Chazz? Atticus? Aster? Jesse? Sartorius? Highly doubtful that they all just died. Even if we forget the Dark Signer arc altogether for some reason; why weren't any of them there to fight against the Meklord Emperors or Duelbots? Jaden would of been perfect to take them down because his whole deck and strategy revolves around Fusion Summoning and the Meklord Emperors were specifically made for countering only Synchro monsters. Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Aster, Syrus, Zane, etc all also have powerful fusion cards of their own. Not to mention ritual summoning. The only time in 5D's where it's basically confirmed that they're _all_ dead is only in Z-one's apocalyptic future, where its stated that *_all_* of humanity was attacked in the Meklord Emperor genocide and drove to extinction, meaning that even the main characters of the show (the Signers) were also killed if they weren't already dead for some reason before the Meklord Emperor invasion. That doesn't really count. Hell, this argument could also be applied to GX even though both Kaiba and Yugi were heavily referenced and were even shown. Why the hell did neither one of them try to stop/fight the Light of Destruction, Yubel, Darkness, etc; especially Kaiba since it was literally going on at his own duel academy for the most part. And again, where were the other DM characters like Joey too? Did none of them just not give a damn even though the fate of the world was clearly on the line multiple times just like it was in their own previous adventures?

Here's my take on it when it comes to Synchro the way I'm going to sound is a bit complicated. My take is Synchro simply don't exist in Zexal why I say that is when we get to the Statues of the legendary Duelist Yusei was never mentioned nor implied but Judai and Yugi were noted by the Statues of Dark Magician and Elemental Hero Neos. Another factor is that Yuma and his friends don't even know Synchros at all as you mentioned. Why do Synchros don't exist I would say believe it or not is that Zone won against Yusei in that timeline as Yusei never became the big hero and Zone wanted to erased the Synchro from history by destroying Neo Domino in which he succeeds and after that wiping the board entirely clean of Synchro as there was nobody to opposed Zone but if you also watched 5ds When Yusei is about to stop the Arc Cradle Zone and Sherry said Yusei dies during that Mission. What changed the whole timesteam between Zexal and 5ds is the Crimson dragon. Originally Yusei was meant to fail which leads to Zexal but because of the Crimson Dragon Yusei succeeds. Basically there's two timelines one timeline following Yusei which is the unknown timeline and the other Timeline or the current timeline is with Zexal and etc where Yusei fails. How did Synchro appear in Arc V my take is that Zone didn't have the foresight to see no matter how many times you tried to change history of removing a discovery eventually it will be re discovered. Which by the time of Arc V synchros were re discovered and therefore used and with the method of Xyz summons managing Synchros became alot easier. That's my little theory on it. I know it may sound probably horrible but that's my take on. Two timelines of one Yusei succeeds or fails.

Also don’t forget there was a mention of Cosmic Blazar in the Sub as well. The Yusei that lost against Zone used Cosmic Blazar so the Crimson Dragon had to make Shooting Quasar for the Yusei that won cause it was much more effective against the Time monsters.

(Negate the attack end the battle phase) which the time monsters effect was during the battle phase. (Negate the summons of monster(s)) Zone will always summon a lot of his monsters in one go.

I personally still go by the yugioh everything-approach that there is just a timeline split and syncros exist in 5ds and xyz exists in zexal. The timelinesplit might even be a what if paradox won in bonds beyond time, because his mission was to prevent syncros from being a thing and pegasus seems to be forgotten by the time zexal rolls around, while he is still remembered in 5ds(a memorial foundation coming into existance after his death). Seriously tho, I cannot believe that jaden yuki was remembered by people but yusei was not. Not to mention that timelinesplits can explain why arcv is the way it is. It is just a timeline where every summoningmethod came into being, but none of the prior shows happened. Basically a big bizzarotimeline that later split into 4 due to zarc and ray.

I think your timeline theory makes it way easier to understand than Dillian from Yu-Gi-Oh everything's timeline theory, where everything splits off from decisions Seto Kaiba makes. And honesty, you could say Dillian just loves Kaiba too much and thought "who cares if we get a Legend of Zelda-like timeline, I love this madlad too much!". Sure, Synchro did originate from Seto's love and need for a way to beat Shadow Games, but it wasn't his idea to use an ancient alien tech in order to improve things to where the apocalypse won't happen by their hands.

That was an incredibly creative explanation for the transition of synchro to xyz summoning, based only on the events and continuities of the shows. I always felt like "overlay network" was a term meant to make xyz summoning sound cooler. Now I'd be interested to know your take on rituals in the show. My guess is, maybe the ritual dimension was already completely wiped out by the fusion dimension, with the only ritual duelists left being the ones from the pendulum dimension. Alternatively, the duel monster cast could be considered the ritual dimension since no dm characters are seen in arc v, and there were at least some ritual summons in the first series.

I find it weird that in the Medieval times of Zexal, Vector and Nash were dueling using XYZ monsters. The most obvious explanation of that would be that human civilization restarted for whatever reason. The first time Astral world and Barian world were mentioned was in Zexal, so that's also interesting. Synchroes weren't the only ones absent. The only duelist who I remember Fusion and Ritual summoning in the anime was Kite. And I'm pretty sure he only did that once. For that reason Kite has a lot of similarites with Jack from 5d's, because Jack was also one of the only ones to Fusion and Ritual summon. It would be almost impossible for 5d's to happen in the same time line as Zexal. In a lot of ways Zexal was very diffrent from the world of 5d's. So yeah, XYZ monsters existed for a long time before the start of Zexal, so it does make sense for it to happen in an alternate reality from 5d's.

Well we shouldn't forget that various duel monsters also existed in stone carvings and tablets (yeah this doesn't explain the mytherian numbers since obviously they'll be hard to find and why the Guardians/manifestations of those Numbers use duel monster cards) but perhaps Industrial Illusions after Pegasus' death was still doing research on Duel Monsters (let's assume Pegasus' adoptive sons in the R manga took over even though R is canon to the manga) and they found ancient stone carvings depicting Xyz Summoning (of course this doesn't explain where Synchro Summoning came from) considering there's still mysteries to the lore of duel monsters that are still being discovered.

@@SpellCommander91 Yeah one of my theories involved the Light of Destruction from GX season 2, since the Lightsworns came from the Booster pack of the same name and they developed into a Synchro Deck during ZeXaLs run, my theory focuses on what happens after GX with the light returning with a new host with the power equal to Jaden and so the light created Synchros and despite that Jaden did win, but with the interest in those monsters Industrial Illusions and Kaiba Corp decided to market that Summoning technique despite its evil origins This even ties into the pattern of villains being the origins of the Extra Deck Summoning Zorc being Fusion since he's connected to the Millennium Items Don Thousand since he created the numbers along with Astral in their battle along with Chaos Xyz Summoning Zarc created Pendulums along with Ray So why wouldn't the Light of Ruin be the cause of Synchros?

Matheus Duarte fusions made more than one appearance. Jack will always fusion some Big Piece Golem. Yusei summoned a fusion using Miracle Synchro Fusion season 1 against team unicorn. And Sherry fusiones summoned a warrior fusion.

Maybe? I don’t actually have a theory on this. Since Duel Runners are only in the Synchro Dimension in Arc V (except when Yugo brings his to Standard and Fusion), it’s possible the Synchro Dimension still uses Moment Reactors since they’re using the Refined Synchro Summoning method. Might be safer while still being compatible with Yusei particles? I’m definitely just made that up, so take that with a huge grain of salt.

Duel Runners still work, they just run off Synchro Summoning. Provided there is any way to get Synchro Ener-D (compared to XYZ energy, a hypothetical Pendulum specific energy, or the generic Dueling Energy from DM and GX) Duel Runners work. Alternatively since the Duel Runners in Arc-V come from a post-Zexal time period they could have been build to accept the other energies. We actually know that in Zarc's pre-split time period Synchros and XYZs were played together. The issue with Synchro is twofold, and both can be solved to bring Synchro back as an alternate but likely inefficient energy source. You need a shielding system for the radiation emited by Synchro Summoning and you need to carefully manage your planetary gears so they either never reach their own inertia to zero reverse or you need to build in a fail-safe system so when a zero reverse is threatening to occur the system shuts down without exploding (or at least without exploding hard enough to take out a city/planet)

This also makes me think: if we assume that Duel Monsters cards either contain the monster or emit an energy and Kaiba has figured out how to harness the ancient power through circuits and energy conversion, then we're missing 2 forms of ZArc currently. Ritual and Link would complete ZArc further, or even do nothing depending on how these mechanics work.

The most recent event in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is a character unlock event where players can get access to Trey (known as III in Japan) from ZEXAL. One scene in the event, however, throws a HUGE wrench into this entire theory: He points out that KaibaCorp. doesn't exist in the world he comes from, and that he has no data on any of the Duelists there who can Duel on par with Trey and Quattro. He speculates that Duel Links is reaching across dimensions to access the memories of Duelists. We've also seen from previous events that certain Legendary Duelists are actually just recreations and not the actual thing. In short, Seto Kaiba's Duel Links game is getting WAY out of hand.

It is impossible for Kaiba Corporation to have not existed in Zexal. KC created the duel disk as well as Elemental Hero Neos, a monster which we see in Master Rokujuro's duel dojo. It's possible that that KC was no longer around DURING Zexal but it had to have been around at some point.

Convergent evolution is a viable explanation.

Everything seems logical to me! Just a small issue about the statues, it still doesn’t make sense that synchro monsters aren’t included in there if we’re going with your arguments. If synchro monsters aren’t included in there because history already forgets about them, I don’t think people will remember about fusion monsters as well, along with the normal monsters before them. There’s no sense in people not knowing about Yusei as well since he participated in the Fortune Cup defeating the King, Jack, and also participating in the WRGP (also become the favorites to win in that as well, due to Yusei’s reputation after the Fortune Cup).

I think there is no "Ritual World" because Ritual Monsters are the only monster card type whose members have to be special summoned but they are in the Main Deck. All other special monster cards which can only be special summoned are in the Extra Deck - meaning that they are out of this world or "extra-terrestrial". That implies Ritual Monsters to be the special monster type which originated in the human world. Another point to consider is that back in the early stages of human history, people used to (and partially still do) offer a sacrifice to the deities and summon their powers to get a good harvest season, a war blessing, etc. That could have been the reference to Ritual Monsters being summoned using a spell card (= ceremony/spell) and a sacrifice.

the weird part of all of this is it still keeps up with what the original history of DM was based on in the first series, where in the ancient times, yes they used stone tablets to summon there monsters with a kind of magic of sorts. But only certain people had the ability to do so if im not mistaken. So with Pegasus being the "creator" of dual monsters, he pretty much brought a way for everyone to play this ancient card game, which led to more discovery's as we see with yugi and Jaden mostly, with the realization that a dual monster world exists within our own. And than with kaiba advancing and harnessing the energy of the game they were able to develop new tech and more ways of summoning, but little did they know it would slap them in the face. I also find it weird that GX had synchro summoning but they never mentioned really what it was or how it was done. and I feel like 5D's really drove that fact in. Also with the augmented reality, if we look at dark side of dimensions kaiba's prototype is pretty much what there using with the exception that in zexal they have a physical disc attached to it much like the version yugi used in the movie. So I wouldn't say kaiba doesn't or isn't known but rather in that time frame something happens and I think that's the key.

That makes a lot of sense, for my on theory on why Synchos are absent. My theory was after the split in Arc-V, we ended going into Zexal through the new Xyz world timeline. The split also causing the birth of Astral world, the dimension where all Astral beings come from and then later all Barians came from thanks to Don Thousand's weird biblical fall from grace. After he and Astral's duel and Astral's memories scattering across earth in the form of numbers which in turn made Xyz monsters a thing in this Xyz world. Now this could be just whole cloth but I think it could be a thing considering how long it took Leo to discover the other dimensions and even enter Fusion

the actual reason being, in a gamestate focusing heavily on level manipulation, producing a high number of easily summonable cards of a consistent leveling scheme, the need to activate effects by detaching material is an inherent balancing aspect. Syncrho monsters are inherently stronger, as even if just summoned from the grave, they just get their effects. They don't rely on material. To push powercreep, they had to artificially balance the game scape by removing these far stronger, incredibly versatile extra deck monsters

Because it was supposed to advertise XYZ monsters and they didn't want to direct people towards other extra deck monsters. They needed to sell those XYZ cards. With pendulums it was different because their best use was to support the extra deck monsters and they were releasing new fusion, synchro and XYZ cards that would work exceptionally well with the new pendulum stuff. It actually makes sense why duel monsters was the best and most creative while the rest of the seasons were definitely built around the card game and were meant to advertise the increasingly ridiculous cards. As for ritual monsters... they're either too busted for the anime or too crappy to advertise. Didn't Kite use a photon version of White Dragon Paladin though?

I think Yusei fixed Syncro's but decided to keep quiet because of the crisis they recently caused for fear of disbelief till his ancestors revealed them when Z-Arc arose to allow Ray to use them to counter Z-Arcs Syncros(Z-Arc possibly being an ancestor of Yusei's) and XYZ energy was developed and proven more stable so it was used leaving Yusei and friends still experimenting with the cards that brought them together

One theory I've seen is alternate timelines, one where the Kiaba Corp made the reactor and in turn synchros were discovered, then the branch timelines for ZONE's appocolyps and Yusai stopping the reactors becoming unstable but another timeline where the reactor never worked and another tech was researched making XYZ possible, basically timeline branches, we got 2 shows made from different versions of the future

Wanted to comment here that a semblance of Tuner monsters does exist in Zexal, for example, some cards that characters use have their TCG counterparts say "This card cannot be used as a Synchro material" such as Yuma's "Kagetokage" and Kite's "Lightserpent". (I know that their anime counterparts don't specifically say that but just wanted to point that out) Also, some Tuner monsters do exist in the Zexal universe, even though they are never played, they appear in the artworks of cards. For example, a character has a card called "Tomatapult", and on the artwork of that card are "Inmato", and "Cherry Inmato", which is actually a Tuner monster. I do find it quite interesting how both GX and 5Ds had their own versions of dueling-powered energy systems. I feel Thelonius Viper (GX) and his Bio-Bands were the precursor to Moment. Like in real science, an evolution of technology. It's established many, MANY times throughout most series that the cards require a duelist's soul to be more than cardboard. It's how the Arc-V Super Polymerization is just a card, but the one fueled by souls and torment was capable of uniting entire dimensions, if the energy is available. Energy that only very few beings have enough of to fuel something on the scale of Moment. With Synchro Monsters being, as in this video's analogy, like nuclear energy, the energy put out is much greater than that of any other monsters, allowing Moment to do what Viper's original design couldn't. It's like comparing nuclear energy to manual labor. One will tire out the duelist, the other risks catastrophe. As for XYZ, I think it would be an analogy to solar energy here, with it being likely less powerful than Synchro (given that society doesn't seem to be fueled by the overlay network), but also heavily reducing the risk of evil machine mass destructions. Or, uh, really enthusiastic entertainers. Actually nevermind that one still happened

I only just learned about this, but Tuners are mentioned in the Japanese anime text of "Scrap Hunter", which proves that Synchros do indeed exist in the ZEXAL world and were just never used.

One thing to note, you _can_ have a perpetual motion machine of sorts, but only as a fully enclosed system, such as an object spinning in the middle of empty space with no gravity and no atmosphere. You can't transfer that energy to anything else without slowing the spin of the object and thus reducing its kinetic energy. Technically that means that while a perpetual motion _generator_ is impossible, a perpetual motion _battery_ is not.

I think it was Yugioh everything who theorized that the 5Ds anime universe takes place in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters ANIME universe and the ZEXAL ANIME takes place in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters MANGA universe. You have the 5Ds anime interracting and even acknowledging the Duel Monsters anime timeline with the CANON Bonds Beyond Time movie. but of course the theory falls apart when ZEXAL comes along and allows Yuma to use Dark Magician and its the fan favorite PURPLE Dark Magician from the anime... if it weren't for that, then I'd say this is a pretty solid theory as the Manga Dark Magician is the hideous green skinned mage.

I only remember that yugioh everything said that zexal is likely a weird timelinesplit because both happen after gx, but neither have any significant hints towards each others existance.(except for a few minor things that could be errors, like tunermonsters being shown in zexal-related material)

I personally think 5ds and Zexal are the results of capitalist competition. Heartland wanted to find an alternative to Synchro Summoning for the reasons mentioned in your video and partnered with Dr. Faker, Byron Arclight and Kazuma Tsukomo to do so. The result was the discovery of the powers of Astral and Barian World, which draw their powers from Astral and Don Thousand, who, in turn, harness their powers from the forces output by the Numeron Code. In other words, Synchro Summoning could still be present in the contemporary New Domino City, but as Zexal takes place in Heartland City, it makes sense that XYZ summoning would be the default summoning technique.

Maybe the reason why yusei along with the other legendary duelists in 5ds were purposely removed from history by yusei in order to prevent zone or someone like zone to ever exist, dont forget that the reason zone chose to become yusei was because he wanted to use yusei's recognition as a means to give people hope which unfortunately lead to the world's collapse because they couldn't believe in themselves but relied on a false idol. Zone wasnt yusei and didnt posses his power, therefore he failed, what should of happened was the rise of a new hero rather than a fake one. Thus yuma exist.

Zone only chose to become the yusei of his time because of the catastrophe that happened, which yusei prevented. Not to mention that the world did not collapse because of zone, the damage was already done and he basically just added a few more seconds to the ticking timebomb and nobody managed to come up with a solution for the problem quick enough.

Not to mention Konami releases new Synco’s with Judgement of Light. I’d say Syncro summoning was still around and canonical possible. It just wasn't the popular mechanic

The simple "in-universe" explanation for their "absence" is - the main cast just didn't cross paths with them. Just as they didn't cross paths with a lot of other cards that should reasonably there like Demise and Elemental HEROes. The importance of the "Duel Sanctuary" as a meta continuity-statement is overstated. It also doesn't feature pretty much anything Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Jaden and Syrus played outside the ones featured - cards like Dark Paladin or the Egyptian Gods or Destiny Heroes, or any reference to Chazz or Mai or Ishizu. Characters and cards we know were there in their eras. Which is unsurprising, because this is not a hardline statement of continuity. This is a random old man's nostalgia collection, subject to all the biases thereof. Which is more "Iconic Kaiba"? Blue-Eyes or Gadget Soldier? "Iconic Yugi", the Dark Magicians or Archfiend of Gilfer and Feral Imp? "Iconic early days", Yugi and Kaiba, or Leon and Marik?

I doubt Yugi will let Yusai be forgotten as a footnote in history. Bonds Beyond Time would ensure that Yusai wouldn’t be forgotten. Jaden and Yugi would spread the story of the Duel with Paradox, leading to the creation of synchro monsters because Yusai used Synchro Monsters in the Duel without a connection to the EnerD system.

This is pretty good.... though I have just 2 small corrections, we see a Tuner monster early on in the Zexal anime for a cameo (A Dark Tuner, interestingly enough, Nightmare hand) and you even showed the clip that featured it not 20 seconds in (though you cut the clip before he appeared). While it may not mean anything, that, plus the fact that it is still used in the Zexal era video games, implies to me that Synchro summoning (and by extension Turbo duels) could still exist and be relevant in the world at that time. Just not super popular in Heartland City.... where 99% all the plot takes place. Hey, if Crash Town can look like it came straight out of the Midwestern USA despite being close enough to Neo Domino City (In Japan) that Sector security has jurisdiction there... I don't think it would be much of a surprise to find out that the city right next door to Heartland had Turbo Duels and Synchro summoning out the Wazzo. The second thing is the misconception people get from Roku's statues.... while they are in fact signature monsters from DM and GX, Roku himself doesn't refer to them as such, he says that they are monsters his students have used, hence why Blade Armor Ninja was among the statues. He wasn't making them off of legendary cards from the past, it's just that his students also happened to use those same monsters, which makes since since most of the monsters shown weren't one of a kind cards. So even if Yusei did become famous and Stardust was considered a legendary monster (which makes since since Zone decided to copy Yusei and Paradox sought Stardust for his attack on Pegesaus), that wouldn't be enough to warrant Roku making a statue for Stardust. As he has completely different criteria for making the statues. Everything else sounds like it is pretty solid though, super similar to what I was thinking for the explanation. Now I am curious to see how this goes to the upcoming Ritual summoning Video.

Also, double checking the summary for episode 15 of Zexal (thanks to the wiki), it says this: "Roku appears and explains that the statues were built in the name of all people who mastered the art of dueling under his wing."

Wow that's sounds better than my theory about the Light of Destruction being the cause of the Meklord Genocide due to the Lightsworns coming from the *Light of Destruction* booster pack which developed as a Synchro deck later one, basically the GX antagonist caused Synchro Summoning to exist after GX ended by introducing it in a tournament against Judai/Jaden and due to the wickedness of human hearts it gave the fragments of the Light of Ruin enough power to commit global genocide

@@SpellCommander91My theory It's actually more that when fragments of the Light of Destruction grew and merged back together into the very being within the Moumentum it created the Meklords as the ultimate beings of destructions and without the Supreme King since let's say Jaden marries Alexis and their family line continued up to Zones era Since Synchros would be created by the light of Destruction the fragments Jaden's descendant uses would've blocked out the Gentle Darkness and the the descendants connection to Yubel preventing the kings power from returning to combat the light like it's supposed to thus Light was able to do what it wanted unchallenged until the reactor meltdown and exploded thus the Light of Destruction won in Z-Ones timeline until the signers and humanity of Yusei's era defeated Z-One and Yusei created that program like what you said a temporary band-aid.
