Honestly, if they just improved the DB interface I'd be more willing to spend more time there. Nasty lag, freezes/DC's, small buttons in columns with many important options, potential for MC's and subsequent arguments. I often find myself totally drained after a grind there, and its not even cuz of the games themselves, but bc of all the tiny BS that adds up

This this this. So many nights I feel as though Im losing minutes to hours to the toaster servers or the rulesharks who hold you hostage bc they refuse to Google. DB is an awful platform with awful people.

One strategy I found to minimize these, is get to high ladder as soon as possible. Low ladder is truly a jungle

Try low Animation and Resolution setting helps with lagging

I’ll always love the sims for preventing people from cheating and creating impossible game states. I hate having to police their plays the whole game

These are all 100% on point. My only input is simulators other than DB are still perfectly fine because they -do- remind the player of whay they actions they have and can therefore teach a player new [correct] lines. Also, YBM isn't necessarily a go-to for new players in my opinion, but I'm still oldschool and use TCGplayer for almost all my purchases. Taking over the counter meds along is recommended.

On the subject of lunch breaks - if at all possible, plan out exactly how you’re going to approach it before the time comes (where you’re going to get food from, mostly). Chances are if it’s a large event, places will be absolutely mobbed out by other players and time is ticking faster than you realize. If you take too long with indecision, there’s a good chance you’ll have no real time to get anything and you’ll either be late or hungry and annoyed.

Just FYI for anyone looking to join YBM from any of Gary’s videos, please answer ALL questions, please ensure your profile has a real name, please ensure your profile has a proper picture. If you find yourself being rejected you are welcome to reach out to staff, but it tends be from the above.

One thing I want to add to end of match procedures: once the game has ended, make sure that each player signs the winning slip and that the winner turns it in ASAP. The reason being that if the slip is not turned in within 5 minutes of time being called, it can result in a match loss for each player.

Great video. Can’t stress enough about playing on DB as opposed to automated sims. It’s no coincidence when top rated DB players show up to a YCS and end up doing well

Yea db is great just don’t have access to it atm
@jamessunderlandseventh7410Күн бұрын
Automated sims are better to learn interactions, Dueling books is where you test that you remember the interactions.

It cannot be said enough. JUST PAY THE G&S fees! As someone who got scammed out of 1000+ dollars, the fees are literally nothing compared to NOT having the meta deck you've paid for.

How do you pre reg for a regional?
@GG_YGOКүн бұрын
Depends on whose running it. If it's thesidedeck, you can Google thesidedeck and register on their site. If you look up yugioh regionals 2025 it'll tell you whose running what event.

I also use a clip on the zippers to keep the bag closed. To get it open would require tugging on it.
