Every game needs an epilogue that turns into its own story.
@jordanjackson6151 Жыл бұрын
Wow. Never heard of that one before! That's a cool thought. Well, with story driven Role Players at least.
@peppermillers836111 ай бұрын
I don't know about that. It kind of defeats the purpose of an epilogue being a short closure to the story. This epilogue was long because it was planned to be a more ambitious second half rather than an epilogue.

@peppermillers8361 It was a nice suprise, though. Kinda reminds me of Muv Luv Extra where the characters are basically transported into another genre for a second adventure.

This is so amazing! I just stumbled upon this some weeks ago, and now I am totally addicted to this song and its truly beautiful sound. Honestly, isn't this among the best video game songs of all? I haven't played the game, and I know nothing about the apparently wonderful YM2608 chip, but I love this SO much.

You really should give the Visual Novel (the 90s fan translated version) and the rest of the soundtrack a try, they’re great.

2:25 and onwards where the song picks up so well..oh man this gives me goosebumps.. played Yu-no several years ago.. what an amazing track. I love the "epilogue" parts of the game , where this screenshot takes place. (not to spoil anything) The first 75% of the game is just so-so, but dat epilogue makes this game really special
@peppermillers83614 жыл бұрын
I dunno, I feel like the 75% is the best part, and Epilogue, for as much as I like it, gets too horny at times and may have been even better if they did some better world building (most of it was removed due to time constraints, along with the gameplay and alternative paths). It definitely has great moments though.
@ailill54584 жыл бұрын
@@peppermillers8361 Yeah a lot of people feel the opposite way, since the epilogue was supposed to be much more fleshed out and ended up being a rushed mess.
@EggiTheShadow3 жыл бұрын
Im with you the epilogue was definitely my favourite, but it wouldn't be the same without the first part of the game. Although it felt way too long to be a epilogue but too short to be its own story. @vril it finally makes sense now i never knew it was supposed to be longer. It felt like it should've been but thought it was by design
@Hugsloth2 жыл бұрын
Since there are no choices for you to make during the epilogue, I always saw it as the player's (and Takuya's) reward for 'solving the puzzle'. He resolves each girl's arc across all of time and space, and obtains the ultimate reward; his very own isekai coming of age adventure where he learns the blade, gets a family, and helps free a distant kingdom. If the game didn't have the epilogue it'd probably still be heralded as a masterpiece of its time, but the fact it DOES have that entire extra arc tucked away behind 100%, just puts it over the top imo as one of the absolute best of all time.

@@ailill5458yu no is a pretty ambitious VN. as a lot of games of the 90s a lack of time and or momey and rushing for release the game at the releasing date. back then developers were not used to delay the release date... btw this VN is still a piece of art...

This version was created for PC-98 YM2608 sound card which was called "Speak Board". In fact only difference between Speak Board and PC-9801-86 (later version of PC-98 YM2608 sound card) was different type of PCM sound source, rest features are exactly the same.

@@alexisynthfm1988 sounds interesting given that on Mega Drive you need to sacrifice one channel for drums. Upd: Looked up an oscilloscope view, looks like one FM channel is playing drums simultaneously with RSS channels. So Mega Drive port can be very faithful with FM/sampled drums on one channel.
