Will say this adaptation will be good since the studio was done by the same studio that did the adaptation of the manga Alice In Borderland, the 2014 and 2015 Parasyte films, among many other good adaptations of other anime. It's not actually Netflix but it's Robot Communications (the film studio) doing the adaptation exclusively for Netflix.

Woah I didn’t even know this was happening, this was one of the shows that introduced me to anime along with dragonball z. I’m definitely gonna give this a chance, at the very least the action looks good

One Piece live action has proven to be enjoyable to both fans of the series and non fans alike. I had not followed the anime before, until a month before the Netflix version. I watched the first 50 episodes in preparation to compare. I think the live action has improved the story. I highly recommend giving it a go. It is surprisingly good. Certainly the biggest surprise this year.

I think I randomly heard of this being a thing but suddenly I see a trailer and HAD to check it. I'm EXCITED but I do wish Kuwabara would have that English dub gravely kind of voice yell "URAMESHI" just once

I second this. Even if they’re not fans of One Piece I think the live action will be a great watch for Holden and Jen. It’s a great gateway into the biblical pirate epic. Good recommendation !

Toguro doesn't seem nearly as menacing as he did in the anime. In the anime, I felt like he was bigger and more threatening. Hopefully, this adaptation does justice to the story.

I'm getting Dragonball Evolution vibes with the aging up of characters... but if i remember correctly the pacifier guy at one point does appear as an adult - he can do either just perfers baby mode. But i could be mistaken it has been pver 10 years since i saw it.

Aside from the name I can't remember anything about the anime. I mean I watched like 20+ years ago. I checked the first episode out and it was like complete déjà vu. I couldn't remember anything until it was happening and I was like oh now I remember this but nothing beyond came back until I watched it. It's funny as the death is very much along the lines of the isekai genre.

yuyu hakusho was my bleach befire bleach existed. having it live action is really possible since its not too anime like dbz and naruto and will work unlike them. so i think this trailer sets it up as a good show imo. better than the live action voltes v honestly

For me i am very hesitant on if this will be good or not because the track record of these anime live actions haven't been that good except for maybe one piece. i hope it is good and they do justice to the characters from both the anime and comica, though i don't know since it already looks like the appearance of some of them look totally different.

I hope ppl realize why anime/manga character design is so over the top. Bcs they will look too similar. Esp in this anime, Yuusuke actually designed just like every other high school kid. So the anime, change Kurama and Kuwabara hair color, making everyone uniforms different colors etc. . I love yu yu hakusho, but I remember as a kid, not attracted to the manga bcs it looked too bland, until one day I randomly open the book and see Toguro's design. His base design is.. base. But his demon design is impressive. And that actually was interesting to me and started to read it. . Edit: Can't forget abt Bui too. His armor was in trailer for a moment

Yusake was constantly either a smartass or a dumbass. He was selfish till somebody else life was on the line then he became dependable and selfless. Depending on who he was fighting he would be pridefully competing to show who was the better man and in other fights he would use the dirtiest of tricks to come out ahead sometimes unintentionally but that was usually against demons that were pretty murderous.

Can someone explain to me why they made Kuwabara the tall, jacked, oafish, curly haired ginger with an orange spirit sword into a twink with grey hair and a blue spirit sword? Also toguru doesnt look nearly big enough but maybe hes just bigger in comparison to the other cast members. Kurama has a pink Karen wig and Hiei's hair is off as well and hes wearing a turtle neck. Casting and wardrobe just seem off altogether. Hopefully the action and story is good. i just dont know why in todays world we cannot seem to get casting, wardrobe and make-up right. I want to see an accurate live adaptation of my favorite anime characters, not have to reassociate the person who looks nothing like them to their character name.

Bro, if there was ever an anime in this history of anime that you and Jen would not only enjoy, but be amazing to react to it would be One Piece. I always told myself eh its just pirates, what's the big deal, oh its too long nah not for me. And then 4 years ago I started watching it and boy oh boy am I now hooked. In fact, I think it may have the best world building and overall story of any anime I've ever seen, and believe me when I say, I've seen a lot (aka basically every semi or really popular Shonen).

It looks promising but key things look wrong to me. Kuwabara doesn't look right. The spirit gun tease looked awful. Like they put a kamehaha on his finger instead of like a singularity type bullet fire. Kurama also needs work. Nailed toguro though

It's actually quite hard because 80% of the source adaptation was a tournament arc, unlike one piece which more story heavy and it's world building. Sure it might work for the anime/manga fan but new viewers won't be able to stand 5 episodes of constant fighting
