I can vouch for Yuasa batteries, put a new one in last summer, it was easy to install and it holds its charge really well. Hell it can sit all winter and fire right up even at -10F.

I have a Yuasa battery in my xt225. Made in July 2004 and still going strong. When it fails I will buy another. I use a Yuasa smart shot 900ma charger every week in the off season.

A word of caution. Buy these from a reputable, authorized dealer such as Revzilla. DO NOT buy them off Amazon, Ebay etc. You will get a Chinese knockoff with a Yuasa sticker; a genuine Yuasa battery is not an "$85.00" battery for a reason!

Yuasa Battery's UGLY side. I recently purchased a motorcycle battery from my local dealer. Being an honest person I told the engineers at Yuasa my story, with full truth. I have a 3rd setting on my Suzuki Intruder 2000. Its a PARK switch setting. You can put this ignition switch into this position and it lights up the rear light so you can safely leave a dead bike on the side of a road if you had to. Brand new battery, drained down over that night. Loaded the bike up on my pickup and went home. Removed the battery for proper charging as per manufactures procedure. 2amp charger. It took much longer to reach 11 volts than normal. So I left it for another 4 hours, only to find that it did get to 12.3 volts but then it quickly began to discharged to below 11 volts again. "indication of a dead shorted cell". I took to my dealer and they honored the warranty. Round two. Same mistake I me. Another dead battery. This time the dealer denied the warranty due to them stating the bike had a drain on the system. Not so. I offered to bring in the bike so they could test their theory, but they quickly gave me an attitude and become a bit hostile, poor customer service, I'd say. Any way these battery's are a ""ONE TIME DEAL"". If you leave on your lights and drain the battery down KISS your money good bye, and trash your chargers, you'll only waste you electricity and summer time riding! Forget trusting it on a trip! If you drain the battery your jump-starting friends will only get you started one time, not to mention the wear on you bikes charging system! I was willing to pay that dealer for the service if they were correct.

Hi Lemmy, great to hear this kind of info. I ride my little 125cc every day to work and for the occasional little tour at the weekend. So I decided to install a USB charger of which the user's manual suggested to plug straight to the battery. So I did and even with no phone plugged in, it was drawing power. so I unplugged it until I needed it. Last weekend, I was on my way to a county I have not been yet so I plugged the wires again and then the phone (Mapsme App) but after just about 1 hour's ride, the battery was dead. The battery is 2 weeks old Yuasa YB9-B. I filled it with acid and let it rest overnight to self-charge and it was ready to rock. after these events, the battery now reads 11.63 volts maximum. So my question is since it charged itself upon setting it up, can I charge it further with a battery charger or is it dead?

I know with automotive batteries, just about all batteries sold in the US is manufactured by 2 big companies to spec for client companies like Interstate, Bosch, auto parts store batteries etc.. Is that the case with bike batteries as well? Not really sure what the significance would be but I have been really curious about the battery industry and didn't think about bike batteries until I saw this review.

I generally wait longer, but you're probably fine. Also, .75A should also be fine. It will take awhile, but it should charge it up. -DrewZilla

@@RevZilla after it's fully charged how long should it hold it's voltage before the maintenance charger starts charging it again because It keeps doing it every 24 hours or less I'm not sure it's holding a charge correctly.

Ok so I’m running a Cbr600rr What would be the best battery to use if I am running heated gear. I also ride about 360 days a year given five for snow and lightning.
@RevZilla5 жыл бұрын
The battery isn't the issue, it's your bike's charging system that matters. You can only draw as much power as your bike can produce, and your bike should be able to handle a heated jacket OR the combo of a heated vest and heated gloves. Changing your battery won't affect that. -DrewZilla

Hello Revzilla.i need to change the battery of my motorcycle and unfortunately the size are not available.can i use small size as long it will go inside the battery compartment?i will just secure it properly.is there any negative effect on wiring etc?
@RevZilla4 жыл бұрын
As long as the battery has the proper CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) rating to turn the bike over, then the physical size should not be an issue. Using a smaller lithium battery is common, and they come with foam to pack your battery box. If you need help finding a battery for your bike feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team at CS@revzilla.com for email or 877-792-9455 via phone. I hope that helps! -Zack

Those batteries are not meant to be opened after they are sealed. I can't say I'v e encountered this situation before, so I think the best answer is going to come from Yuasa themselves. They will know whether that battery is safe to use. -TeamZilla Chris *www.yuasabatteries.com/contactus.php

Hi Please Help. I have YAMAHA R6 (2005) 5SL (Show Bike) I have attached a Music/Stereo Speaker system and LED Colour Changing Show Light Strips Unfortunately when I play the 2 together my battery gets completely dead. I cannot play the music and the led show lights together. Even if I have the highest charge they still die out. The lights and the electrics are always very low and dim. If I signal all the other lights go dim. At the moment I have a (shorai lithium ion battery) I have had many batteries before that have died on me What I want is a battery that can power my Music/Stereo Speaker system and LED Colour Changing Show Light together. I want the electrics to be fully working all the time. I need it equivalent to a powerful car/motorhome battery but for a motorcycle. (I want to keep my entertainment system on whilst the ignition is off. In a nutshell the I need the most powerful motorcycle battery that run the electrics/led light strips/sound system to maximum and without draining battery. Which is the best motorcycle battery for my needs and best charger? Also what do I need to look for in speck and terms wise? I will buy from you and I have no budget. Thank You

Unfortunately, we cannot provide a safe recommendation. A battery with enough capacity would likely be physically too large to fit your bike. Also, your bike's stator is likely too small to adequately recharge a battery that big. -DrewZilla
