This scene is actually a really great parallel compared to some earlier scenes where Cloud and Tifa are failing to communicate and Cloud admits he's not interested in the story she's telling. Here he's fully invested and leaning in to listen, and in turn he finally opens up and communicates honestly about how he feels for pretty much the first time in two games. Also one of the few scenes Cloud doesn't have his sword, further showing his vulnerability.

Cloud’s feelings for Aerith are just confusion from tension and his memory, so it seems like real love, but true love is Tifa. People were saying “oh Cait Smith’s prediction showed that he cherished Aerith the most” - ok but he also says his predictions are “usually” right, and Sephiroth could be what he cherishes the most because it gives him purpose. Point being it could be anything. The writers did a great job I’ll say that

I thought that too.. I know there are Alot of Clerith fans, but it seems to me like even Aerith wanted Cloud and Tifa to be together. She loves Cloud sure, and Cloud loves Aerith. But I think Aerith is so wise that she understands how important Tifa is for Cloud and how much Cloud really needs her. I think that's something that Clerith fans should understand. Cloti isn't just a ship fandom, it's something that is necessary for Cloud's overall healing. Aerith is the healer and to me she knows that Tifa is the medicine Cloud needs. That's why Aerith is so great. Because she cares so selflessly about everyone 🙏

After playing for 4 days, the story they have attempt to built up for FF Rebirth kind of like an anime ? Like a ton of hints for Tifa and Cloud also, Tifa is the only character in dating section that Cloud kiss, in other words, she is the one he treat as much as lover the most than the other.
