Long post (tldr: i disagree with some choices and explain why) [ps the deck isnt bad, just not optimized] So lets get started. Ive been playing cyber dragons on and off since cybernetic revolution, the set cyber dragon was released in, and I wanted to explain why the cyber dragon community as a whole tends to shy away from some of the choices cali made. Cyber Dragon Drei: This card does see some play, but it doesnt see a lot of it for 2 reasons. 1 it competes for your normal summon. Cyber dragons can go into the grind game but they would much rather finish the fight quickly if they can, they arent the best at grinding and your first normal summon is your most important. 2 you are locked out of any and all non-machines for the whole turn as a condition, not just the rest of the turn. No constellar, no summon sorc, no linkuriboh, nothing but machines.* Hand Traps: Unlike most decks you do really want to go second with cyber dragon as often as you can. The archetypes best feature is its ability to break boards, also cyber dragon itself is a brick you run 3 of if you go first. That being said you really want somewhere between 5-8 hand traps. Droll and imperm are able to be run at 3. Ash, ogre, and ghost bell can be at 3 but are recommended at 2 as they are all hard opt. Called by the grave: Again you are focused primarily on going second and most "go first" decks are minimizing the amount of hand traps they are running (draco, gouki, ftk, altergiest as examples). Called protects your decent hands, but it doesn't make your hand good. Cybers are actually fairly resilent to hand traps able to play through 1-2 with a good hand. Also they have multiple SEGOC plays to block popular hand traps like ogre and ash. Instant fusion: Why dont we play it, because it eats up ed space. As shown by this video having a 16 card extra deck, the extra deck is supremely tight in cyber dragons. You want room for all the fusions, xys, and links; and you also want to run 2 of several of your best cards. You just dont have the space for instant. Cybernetic overflow: Just have to state for the record [banish any number of "Cyber Dragons(s)"]. Not "cyber dragon monsters". It only works with the original cyber dragon and monsters that change their name to "cyber dragon" on the field and in the GY, the babies cant be used from the hand. ==extra deck== The Extra deck looks standard for the most part minus 3 cards Constellar pleiadies- The most common run off archetype rank 5, but sadly despite its usefulness it is often cut as you will rarely choose to go into this card. Artifact Durendal- a cute piece of tech that not only can droll combo your opponent but can also be used in combination with overflow as you can force them to pop your ONLY spell/trap on the field. Panzer dragon - is rarely played. Its great combo extention but unnecessary and again, WE NEED THE ROOM. Knightmare gryphon - there exist multiple 3 card combos that will reliably get you a strong first turn board ending with Cyber Dragon infinity and Cyber dragon sieger linked with Knightmare Gryphon, who act like skill drain to any special summoned monster that isnt linked by outright preventing the effects from even activating*. This card is highly recommended.

I agree with you on the most part, having played cyber dragons for years now. The only part I sort of disagree with you on is overflow (I don't agree with running 2) but at 1, it is such a blow out card that cannot be stopped by most if any decks currently in the meta. I also still use Pleiades just because it is invaluable in the mirror match, which is occurring a lot more now, with lots of people trying out cyber dragons, but I also have the space for it due to not running panzer dragon. apart from overflow, which myself and most of the community I've spoken to agree it is best at 1, I do agree with everything you've said.

take out unnecessary "what if" cards that take up space, especially instant fusion and replace them with cards that fuel combos. I know instant fusion fuels combos, but its taking an extra deck and main deck space, for a non searchable card

@@turtle-bot3049 Thank you. Overflow fluctuates between 1 of and 2 of so I didn't feel the need to mention it. Some run it at 2 to deal with more grindy decks, others run 1 as its a searchable out. It is an exceptionally powerful trap and most decks cannot out it safely. Personally I run cyber twin instead of pleiades to extend for game with cyberload fusion.

Bro, you can do the three Rank 5 combo even easier with Core, Vier (or Cyber Dragon, Instant Fusion, Reasoning, basically any free special summon), Machine Dupe and Herz (or Repair Plant, Emergency, Revsytem, Reborn) ending with three disruptions 1. Normal summon Core, CL1 Core, CL2 Vier 2. Special summon Vier, search Revsytem (search for Emergency or Repair Plant instead to get to Herz if you opened Revsytem or Reborn) 3. Link for Genius 4. Activate Revsystem, special summon Core to a zone Genius doesn’t point to 5. Activate Machine Dupe, special summon two CDs from deck to zones that Genius points to 6. Activate Genius, search for Galaxy Soldier 7. Overlay for Nova 8. Activate Nova, special summon CD to any zone except the middle one 9. Rank Nova up into Infinity, putting it in the middle zone 10. Activate Soldier, discarding Herz 11. CL1 Soldier, CL2 Herz; search CD, search Soldier 12. Overlay Soldier and CD for Pleiades 13. Link Core and Genius for Sorceress to the other EMZ 14. Activate Sorceress, targeting Infinity, special summon last Soldier from deck 15. Special summon Soldier from hand that you search off the 1st, discarding CD that was added to hand from Herz 16. Overlay the two Soldiers for another Pleiades End board: Sorceress, Infinity and two Pleiades (one could easily be a Durendal if you chose though)

Thanks for making this video. I'm running a cyber dragon deck so it helped a lot! I also added lightray daedulus. It destroys 2 monster and 1 field spell per turn and is special summoned from having only 4 or more LIGHT monsters in the graveyard.

Just finished building my CD deck. It's a fusion OTK variant but can also go first (in case your opponent won't let you go second). It feels good but bricks sometimes, normally 7/10 a good hand and 3/10 is a brick.

For the people who can't afford Galaxy Soldier: Solar Wind Jammer (Level 5/Light/Machine) If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand), but its original ATK and DEF become halved. During each of your Standby Phases: Increase the Level of this card by 1. There can only be 1 "Solar Wind Jammer" on the field.

Solar Wind Jammer isn't recommended at all. If you would like to have something with this effect, you would rather choose Toon Cyber Dragon. As Jaybird said, Solar Wind Jammer conflicts with Cyber Dragon and does not have Cyber Dragon in his name.

21:35 I use to play a lot of cyber dragon, and I want to inform you that you cannot use nova's effect to detach a cyber dragon to special summon the same cyber dragon, even though it does say to detach THEN target. you would have to target core with Nova's effect

You can use novas effect even without a cyber dragon in the grave yard because the effect says "Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card, THEN target 1 "Cyber Dragon" in your GY, Special Summon that target" so since you detached a material now there is a cyber dragon for you to target, I played this deck for 5 years now and I've never had issues with the ruling when I would do this

No sry bro you can't. When you detach xyz material, the material doesn't go to the graveyard. It's still in this xyz area. Just not attached. The material only goes to the graveyard if the xyz monster goes to the graveyard
