My friend recently asked what to get me, and I said this. Man when he gave it to me I felt like a kid all over again. I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh! Back when I was like 2-3 years old and now I’m 19 soon to be 20. I’m just glad I got this right before I walk into adulthood, a piece of my childhood that will stay with me forever.

Jose Veiga --It all depends on which one interests you more. The 1st LD will be a throwback to the original series with just Yu-Gi's decks. Its more laid back with a more nostalgic feeling. The 2nd LD incorporate Yu-Gi, Kaiba, and Joey's themes in a more competitive style of decks. So it all comes down to which set fits your wants and needs more. A big problem with yugioh I have noticed is that it keeps relying on nastoligia. They very really if ever get new fans and that's why it's popularity is declining. I am an online tutor and every kid I asked about yugion has no idea what it is and when I show them my cards they just pull out all their pokemon cards

I think pokemon or mtg have always had those top spots. I think yugioh holds that #3 spot respectably and for reasons you listed over the last 8 years. I think with things like speed duel and duel links, its helped the game for those who are just getting in. My Gf and I play speed duel because learning all the extra deck rules is too complex for her just starting out. Sheesh, I still have learning to do with links and pendulums lol

I also think there are two sides to the yugioh community (like pokemon too, idk about mtg) the competitive players and the collectors. Not that you have to be one or the other but I love to collect but I’m not as much a competitive player with the current meta. I try to stay up to date with things but There are better to ask for advice lmao😅
