closednick101 Yeah I find the monster spirit idea from GX to be a really interesting one. Also this reminds me that Regulus is getting a Palladion retrain which means that the World Legacy story arc now has some sort of "connection" to the anime since this probably means they're gonna bring back Ancient Fairy Dragon. But there's some other ideas that I have that they might do. Like bringing in a revived Zeman the ape king
@sdsd1801
@sdsd1801 6 жыл бұрын
'Regulus' is the brightest star in the constellation Leo, which is why both the Palladion and the effect monster are lions, so it's purely coincidence and they're not retrains. What does AFD and Zeman have to do with Regulus though?

I remember a toys r us yugioh tournament during the GX era. I was using a destiny hero deck. It was the finales this guy had been overly cocky because he won the last 3 toys r us tournaments. He got overly confidant on his last turn for playing Jinzo because I had 3 face down traps on the field. He then kills my destiny hero Dasher. I was down to 2000 LPs and on my turn my clock tower prison got it's final counter and I summed Dreadmaster and brought back Dasher and Diamond Dude. He got pissed saying I cheated. (It was the first time he went up against destiny hero Dreadmaster. ) He ended up getting band from that toys r us for how badly he was freaking out.

Only Yu-Gi-Oh I play is on an ancient game I have, where the AI can have multiples of restricted traps even though you, the player, cannot. 3 Mirror Forces, Ring Of Destructions, Magic Cylinders, Torrential Tributes, Trap Holes, Negate Attacks... I VERY quickly fell utterly in love with Royal Decree and Jinzo. I even remember once I had them both in play at once. Jinzo negated Royal Decree, but since it didn't destroy it, it remained on the field, and would become active again if anything happened to my Jinzo. THAT is how much I despise trap cards in that game...

My favorite monster of the Duel Monsters era. I got a playset of this, Lord, Jector, and Returner recently, but yes, it is hard to fit them into a deck. Even things like my Cyber Dragons only want Cyber Dragon and level 5 monsters. A lack of traps in the modern meta means he's basically just a level 6, 2400 beater, and in this world of Pendulum, XYZs, and Synchro there are just too many better options for deck space. Although it's a gimmick build, Jinzo could be used with Symphonics. They have a selection of pendulum and tuner effects that could work around Jinzo.

One additional reason that I do not believe was mentioned in MegaCapitalG's video for using Jinzo a lot is its special combination with Call of the Haunted. At least back when Jinzo was considered competitive, it was one of the only monsters around that could be summoned with the aforementioned trap card but not destroyed with it via spell/trap removal. That may well be a minor reason for appreciating Jinzo, but with everything else I think it certainly helped to originally make it EXTREMELY attractive to players.

I ran a Gravity Bind/Burn deck back in the day. Jinzo was my kryptonite. Even moreso than MST with the global backline lockdown. I remember putting Mask of Restrict in the deck for em. Wasn't until Messenger of Peace rolled around that I was able to restart the deck with any kind of meaningful impact.

Back in the day. They were these Yugioh Tins. A big tin container with 1 guaranteed iconic card plus 4-5 packs. And Jinzo became one of the collectable tins to get. Believe it or not this was controversial within our community. Many of us looked down on common reprints. Only the cards original rarity would be respected. If you were caught with a common Call of the Haunted. You'd be labed as a peasant. And while Jinzo was still secret rare from that tin. It still didn't have PSV. So from that day on we forever referred to it as... Tinzo

My favorite build with Jinzo was with Horus control, I would sometimes use cards like Brain Control to use my opponents monster as tribute fodder to bring out Jinzo, but during that same turn, I would play premature burial to bring revive Horus Level 6, then follow up with Level up to bring out Horus Level 8. Now days it would be very difficult to win with the deck, due to how slow it is, as well as having cards like Crystal Wing or even Stardust Dragon, both of which could easily hurt both cards. But I did use the deck again, against Nekroz, it shocked my opponent when they saw Horus level 8 and Jinzo on the field at the same time, safe to say there wasn't much they could do about it since Horus stopped all his/her ritual spell cards, but the main difference was, I was using Monarch support to accomplish the same thing, only a little faster.

DM and GX were the only fun times of duelling/watching the anime. Everything that came after was just unnecessarily complex. I watch tournaments every now and then, and I gotta say. What exactly is fun about having a 20 minutes turn where you’re shuffling for about 80% of the time and eventually end the entire duel in 3 turns ?? That’s nowhere Near as fun as the earlier days of duelling was

Man. MTG never really captured me like Yugioh. I wanna go back to the days of Daycare Yugioh. I remember being sad to go home. So many myths about Egyptian God Cards and rare Japanese cards (Chinatown knockoffs) . Man. I just want those days again. Yugioh art really captured the imagination. My parents didn't even let me get cards at first because my mom thought they were satanic 😅. I had to beg and beg. Finally got some Labyrinth and Pharoahs Servant boosters. Im kinda freaking out because I have a looooot of really old cards from that early 2000s period. EDIT: and I have some 1st edition booster Blue Eyes and pages of SDK blue eyes. Maybe ~30 in all, no joke. Omg. I saw your video on the cheater guy and got down the Yugiog rabbit hole. I loved Kaiba in the show and traded for as many blue eyes as I could as a kid. I also have some Red Eyes from the Joey starter deck. Am I gonna be a thousandaire?! . Maybe only a few truly mint tho. I need to get my collection looked at, right? Where do I go

Beatdown YuGiOh was my jr high man...Tried to play a game in college and the meta and core gameplay had shifted so drastically that every card I has was almost irrelevant...which makes it all the more amazing that my beatdown deck still won somehow...and that shift seems to keep happening every couple years...least from a perspective of a dude long since removed. Not to start shit, but I love that my 13 year old Ravnica and Mirrodin decks were still viable with minor updates.

Jinzo would certainly cripple this rage-inducing Ghostrick deck that I found on youtube once for Legacy of the Duelist, because the trap combos were pretty crucial such as Quaking Mirror Force + Ghostrick Scare, and if Mansion is up, whoever is on the receiving end will have a bad time.

I remember my cousin and I used to play casual Yugioh with really awful decks until one summer he made friends with some serious players. The first time I faced off against Jinzo and that effect monster that would instantly kill face down monsters without flipping them it felt like I'd brought a wooden sword to a gun fight. Very scary card.

Even through Jinzo is pass his prime, he still has a place in my heart as a DM icon. I loved summoning him in Yata-lock. I always tried to save most of my monster destruction cards just in case a Jinzo was summoned.

Wow. I stopped playing just as the Monarchs were coming onto the scene. It is so strange to watch these histories now, when the only part I remember is the ancient history "caveman Yugioh" days. SOOOO many new types of monsters, ways to summon, new decks even (how is an extra deck different than a side deck? What happened to fusion decks? etc, etc.) Anyway, Jinzo was awesome. I still have one in a binder somewhere, Ultra rare I think.
