I really like you Yugo series. If you type in Yugo Relly car you will see how you can modify them. I’m from Serbia originally where this car was being produced, last one was built in 2008 and they were building Yugo’s for 40 years without any changes almost

I did see that video before. I know there is a lot to do to make these cars stronger. I will be addressing that. Thanks for watching my friend.

You know if you cut the fire wall out along with the dash windshield two front seats and floor you could TOTALLY swap in a big block Chevy 😃

I have an idea once you and Kompas get decently started on your Yugo's that you make a cartoonish Yugo race car shirt and charge $5 extra for them and use that money as a prize for the winner to donate to a charity!
@OldeCarrGuy2 жыл бұрын
Would you buy one if we did?
@jasoncarpenter41162 жыл бұрын
@@OldeCarrGuy Absolutely and maybe $5 extra is a bit much per shirt, but you get the idea. Maybe you can poll the audience in a video to see what they think of it's and if you would able to sell them that way.

Good fun to watch. I actually test drove a brand new Yugo when I was in the market. Ended up with a lightly used Chevette instead. Maybe one day will give one a shot. I like the looks of them. Would probably be tempted by a rabbit diesel instead.

Watching this swap with great interest! Look at older Dodge Tradesman vans for a sideways mounted master cylinder-that would probably be a plan for the Yugo unit to reside in that spare tire area.

Hello OCG I Wanted to let you know I am following your YUGO Racing Buddy on his Build just wanted to pass this along he's reinforcing the body and frame and you might also because I guess the little car's aren't designed for extra power and it might become a Deathtrap. And about the brake booster setup Google the old Chevy, dodge, Ford Van's from the 70-80's a lot of the booster and masters cylinders were setup sideways it might give you some ideas 💡

Oh I'm definitely gonna be adding strength to the car!

Swaps never go exactly as planned. In the end, as long as you can access the dip stick, it’s all good.

Howdy, Seeing this sure brings back memories of doing weird engine swaps "back in the day". :) Love it. That K-member shouldn’t be a big hassle for a fabricator. Hope one shows up who is just as ah… er… “special” when it comes to liking this stuff. I’m keeping an eye on the competition for you. ;)

The suspension setup is almost more interesting than the engine, it actually seems like you have a decent amount of room under the hood the spare tire cavity really helps

Not really sure you are even bothering. So much of those cars were cheap junk. Except for the bucket seats! Guess that's because they had to be comfortable because you had to wait for the tow truck. I had a set of those seats, they set pretty darn good 👍.

Fair enough! But that the main reason for the swap, reliability of Toyota.

@NenadTrajkovic2 жыл бұрын
As an experienced Yugo tuner, I have to warn you that first you have to strengthen the body because there is a weak inclination to twist and fix the suspension, then think about the engine... and please don't put 15' wheels, the Yugo then looks like a Lada Niva 4x4. Allen from Kompas Garage wants to race with you
@OldeCarrGuy2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Allen and I have ben in contact. I do plan on adding structure to the Yugo for sure. I guess with only 50-ish horsepower they weren't too worried about regidity!

Consider cutting bits out of the Toyota and grafting them into the Yugo in ine piece to preserve the geometry.
