Is he still doing so? From what I read i understood that soon after his Boston win he switched to full-time running.

Fantastic video! Yuki is such a nice guy! Love the way he credits the track team for helping him out and acknowledges a shoes as a difference maker. Met him in Wellesley, as we were both running the course, the day before he ended up winning Boston. A cherished memory for me.

Go Sweat Elite! Finally some good Japanese content. The western running community should better recognize and give accolades to Japan’s running culture. Thank you!

I think this is the first time I saw a 10 x 1 km that they intended to run the first 5 rep at 5k pace and 6th to 9th at marathon pace and to give all out in the last rep. What a new perspective to learn 👏

It is so cool to listen to an in depth self assessment by a top runner. I mean we all enjoy all the videos with running and pace tracking, but more often than not in videos where non US/UK athletes are featured, English language tends to get in a way. Great job with the interview and translation. You guys are killing it right now video after video.

Looking at this 10x1km training ... I realised that team is important. To run 5x1km at 5K pace and 4x1k at Marathon pace ... requires team works, a good pacer where each and every team mates become alternatively pacing each others, something that quite impossible to be done alone. Kenyans and Ethiopians did that, so did the Japanners ... whereas the rest of the world may be running solo or with just 2-3 runners for tempo. That's why they always have many distance runners.
enjoyed this first video from japan! also, random thing i found interesting: the group at 12:09 are all wearing different brands haha. adidas, asics, hoka, saucony, and nike
