Yukon Quest Alaska 2023, from fairbanks to two rivers ak

This was our first sled dog race experience , we have a great time. The start in fairbanks to the first checkpoint in rwo rivers ak. Thanks to all the racers and pups for a wonderful day.

I'm confused a little...Why do they have 2 separate mushers and in the end only 1?

They have rider s to kick off the race, I think they ride around 2 miles and solo from there. They have a auction or raffle to the public that can ride the race if they win.
