こんにちは。I did that on purpose.😉 I use JSL Romaji system in my courses (This is a sample from my course) where we spell words as we pronounce them and not how we write in Hiragana. The long vowers [ee] and [oo] are often spelled [ei] and [ou] in Hiragana. You can watch this lesson to learn different Romaji spelling systems. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKrThKafgb1riZo Hope it helps!

I’m confused. So I’m learning Japanese, right? But like I want to say hi in Japanese, which I know is kon’nichiwa. Which means that the Japanese version would be “こん’いちわ” I think, I’m a beginner. What I’m saying is do we take an English word like “moo” or something and find the symbol for “mo” in Japanese and change it? Moo will now be モー in Japanese? This means “moo” So am I right? Please let me know I’m totally confused and I might sound like an idiot and I hope what I said makes sense 😅 Edit 1: I’m so sorry I figured it out how to do it I’m such an idiot, I’m going to delete this soon I figured it out lol thanks

I thought the only translation of "MOTHER" in japanese is "OKASAN" thanks for the knowledge 🙂
@plsnoteli3 жыл бұрын
Yeah! You use haha (はは or 母) for when you are talking to someone about your own mother then you would use okaasan (あかあさん or お母さん) when talking to your mother (like おはよう、お母さん) or talking about other people’s mothers. It’s the same with father!! chichi (ちち or 父) when talking to someone about your father then otousan (おとうさん or お父さん) when talking to your father or talking about someone else’s father. I’m sure you’ve heard “oniisan” (おにいさん or お兄さん) but when talking to someone about your own older brother you say “ani” (あに or 兄) Older sister is oneesan (おねえさん or お姉さん) then talking to someone about your own older sister it’s (あね or 姉) I forgot what younger sister and younger brother is lol but you get the point
