The increased pixel count must have made it several times more difficult to animate and that it looks even smoother then normal duo to said increased pixel count must mean that even more effort was put into this. Literal masterpiece.

Definitely has effort and is hard, but actually the increased pixel count doesn't make it harder to animate. If you can animate in 2d normally already you can just use a pixel styled brush which will give your art a pixelated look

I LOVE all the subtle animation details for Madotsuki as the video goes on. 0:31 The few frames where she pulls the flute out. 0:31-0:52 The fact that her head slightly moves up and down to match the beat she's playing. 1:01 She lifts her head up and begins playing again! 1:08 Now you're just copying poor Masada. 1:32-1:52 her head slightly moves up and down again like earlier. 1:52 Putting the flute away to have the animation loop again!
