You realize with that amount of heat they're no longer raw? It's no different from sunny side up or over easy eggs. Egg yolks take very little time to cook at that temperature before solidifying completely.

i disagree ...the runny part is still there. I know that people like this and that is even more healthy but it looks and feels fcking disgusting on my tongue. I respect the skill but would puke on that table when he sliced it and it showed the liquid

@@11WicToR11no i def get that. part of omurice tho is cooking it so that the inside is still runny like that, which is why is so difficult. very easy to overcook eggs, not so easy to go back in time lol

Most European countries have a very low salmonella percentage. In japan it's safe to eat raw eggs and it's done pretty regularly. It's just like them being able to eat raw fish because it's safe.

Here in germany you can actually eat raw eggs without a problem. The risk is very low to become sick

@@ystconnection It all has to do with having a very good non-stick pan and the right temperature. If the heat is too low, it won't spiral. Too hot and the eggs will fry instead of becoming malleable.

this is a japanese omelette, and in many countries eggs can be eaten raw. If you were to make this in America though, it would have to be cooked all the way through

Just for the record, the only thing that makes the first one possible is fantastic cookware. A REAL, honest-to-god, high-quality, non-stick pan makes ALLLLLL the difference

There was a Michelin star chef who once said, when I interview a new chef I ask them to make an omelette, you can tell the skill level of any chef by that simple test, these are extremely skilled

Yeah. Sadly people don't know how to properly cook an omelette. But you know what is scarier, cooking them in front of a group of people. I have to do it every weekend and been doing for a very long time. Still nervous. And why it's hard to get a replacement person. The thing is it's not just a Skill, it's the Equipment and the Eggs that make all the difference and even how you whisk them. Hell, I use a Chinacap to get the eggs whisked just right and it removes the Chalaza. But I'm also cracking 15 dozen eggs to start with.

These are fully cooked. Just not overcooked. And you can make a normal omelet, but it wont split like the one here. As far as the tornado one, I think you can? It might just be harder to do.

Great technique. I saw using chopsticks for making omelettes on a cooking show. I like my eggs cooked a little more thoroughly, but this is great 👍🏾

​@ardismack2567 give it a try. It's so much better. I watched Ramsey videos for scrambled eggs. If you pull it out of the pan slightly early the eggs own heat cooks itself a bit more by the time you eat it. I'll never go back to overcooked eggs. Should never be brown.

The tornado one is so deceptively hard to master, but once you do, if you like eggs the way people like steak (i.e. there’s a right doneness and everything else is preferential and wrong lol), it’s the best at delivering the two textures and everything in between. So damn good.

Eggs in Japan are safer to eat than other places in the world. It also depends on how you ate growing up throughout your life. Also, as long as food reaches a certain temp it is safe to consume. I just do not think I can handle the texture lol. The art in this is is amazing. So pretty

Egg starts to cook in about 60 degrees celsius, so the runny egg won't be even that hot.

Also the risk of salmonella from eggs is overblown. When eggs are contaminated its usually the outside only from cross contamination. The virus is rarely passed from chicken to egg
