There’s nothing irredeemable about making a mistake. It’s what makes us human. What makes someone a bad person is when they refuse to learn from their mistakes and refuse to do better. You found out what was wrong and fixed it, and that’s all that matters hen. You did what was best for ur pleco and your pet is now much happier because of it

These tanks would look cool with like colorful fake fish. My family friend had this real tall glass tube aquarium thing in their living room years and years ago that had realistic looking plastic fish in it. The fish moved up and down like real ones thanks to this tiny motor that made the water move. It was cool. (they did have real fish too, just in a real aquarium and they took good care of them)

The fact that some pet stores even LET people walk out of the store knowing they are going to put a fish in a bowl is wild to me. I work at Petsmart and anytime a person is walking around with a bowl and looking for fish, we radio for someone to go over and talk to them. There have been many times I have refused the sale of fish to someone who wasn't planning to care for them correctly. The Mind Boggles ..

I have been wanting to tell you that you were the one who introduced me into the fishkeeping hobby, Ive been watching your vids for a year and thanks to you now I have a (cycled, ofc) rimless 5gal planted fish tank with only a male betta! I must thank you for showing so many people, including me, how fish must be cared for properly, and encouraging everyone to research and keep learning! And thank you for making me discover the hobby, every day I see my betta growing and his colors getting brighter (I suspect hes not fully grown yet), and that surely brings me happiness every day

That "This is a sign" video, those videos make me SO ANGRY!! I'd say "unreasonably angry", but I don't think there's anything unreasonable about being angry about animal abuse... But come on, people, it's not that hard to research the care of an animal before buying it, I'd say it's actually easier to find out what it takes to properly care for an animal, than it is to buy it! Google is literally right in your hand when making those videos!!!

Would love to create an aquascaped themed tank, something fantasy/sci-fi/steampunk sort of think. But it would worry me what sort of materials could be safely used. When I was little, my parents had a really nice, really well tended fish tank. We had a variety of freshwater fish that lived around eleven years. Because of that, I wasn’t even aware that people treated fish so poorly. As it turns out, my parents cared about our fish way more than most fish ‘owners’.

are you going to make a video about the so-called "toadline bulldogs" going around social media recently? cause they're like the worst bred dogs i have ever seen. like, literally bred to be super-super brachycephalic and with extremely curved spines and hip and elbow dysplasia that splays their limbs outward like a frog. they can't mate naturally, need c section to give birth, have breathing problems so severe their gums are tinged blue from constant lack of oxygen and sort of just drag themselves around to move. apparently they cost upwards of $10k per pup and have an average lifespan of around four years. it's awful on every front and i think someone needs to address it

I bought fish with my friends in the correct way. Shopped for aquaria and gravel together, set them up, researched the fish, came back for the fish a week later, brought them back and had a cup of tea together whilst they acclimatised, and would look after eachother's fish if one of us went away.

I find it dumb how arrowana's can be sold at pet stores. Like, chain pet stores such as Petland (I think it's only in Canada), Petsmart, Petco, etc... And they're sold as babies, so people want to buy them, it looks cool, looks prehistoric, and people love to impulse buy. At a specialty store I go to for fish, they have this GIANT arrowana in such a big tank. It's I think 2000 gallons, and the arrowana is the size of a toddler.

At 8:30 I have the exact same tank. It's 12L if I'm remembering correctly. I've used it for many things - brine shrimp, snails, emergency hospital tank, temporarily keeping new goldfish fry until I could get them into a larger one. I'd never put anything larger than a snail into it longterm. And yeah, it comes with that filter. It's so bad though that I just chucked mine.

Soda, I apologize for what I have to say. There are so many abused fish and other creatures that are abused through sheer ignorance! It is not that people don't care, they are too stupid to know they should. If ignorance is bliss, there are a lot of blissful people out there.
