I think a partial reason why G5 sees so much hate is because G4 is still beloved by so many. People still make content about it now, and i see it way more than G5. Im guessing many people are setting the standard for G5 very high because of how great G4 was. And, G5 is so different from its older generations that it can really be jarring and unpleasant. While i don't hate G5, I particularly am not a fan of the animation style (or the fact its in 3d, but lots of animated shows are 3d nowadays.) I also think G5 made a grave error trying to sort of build off the previous generation and still mentioning the old mane six. Ive watched even older generations of my little pony, and they always start off as their own thing. I dont think the mane six or spike should of been even acknowledged at all in G5. (If that makes sense.) As for its plot, i feel its pretty okay for it being targeted towards kids, but it really has a lot of plot holes, flaws in continuity and overall less interesting than previous generations. Although, that snow leopard character villain is pretty cool, she might be my only favorite

I like g5, but I think that trying to force us to believe it is a continuation of g4 while also having characters who don't feel like they would ever be in g4 ruins it. Like you can't have your cake and eat it too. Again, I think g5 had a lot of potential since I enjoyed the movie and the characters... But I believe they should have either made it a complete continuation without creating weird inconsistencies that makes you question how the two gens are connected or just have it be completely disconnected from the previous gen (or any gen for that matter). I'd personally go for the latter since I just really dislike the whole "every gen is connected" theory I've seen a few times. A show shouldn't rely on the lore of previous generations to be good.

About Sprout turning the earth ponies against unicorns and pegasi so easily, that’s actually a pretty common occurrence in My Little Pony. The three tribes always seem to have a very fragile level of cooperation. Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow turned the tribes against each other pretty easily in season 9 and Posey rallies the earth ponies against the unicorns and pegasi again in the MYM special. Ponies are just naturally racist I guess and it takes work to get them to be loving and accepting.

I liked the g5 movie but when I tried to watch the series I ended up completely zoning out almost immediately, I think at some point I’ll try watching it again but I will always prefer g4

Love the content! I also love ponies but sadly the g5 storyline is dissapointing to say the least. I played the first game and the second one totally missed me lol It's like you said, gameplay-wise not the best thing in the world but hey, Sunny is great to control and just watch. it's a very cute game and great for just a brain:off chill time :D
