it's difficult for me to get excited over him or Lang Lang or anyone much for that matter because after hearing Van Cliburn in concert when i was ten and listening to him ever after on record and cd's it's the top end all else seems to idle in comparison. I found Lang Lang version of thus to be absolutely horrible like he was maniacal in his attacking it.,,almost couldn't listen to it all.
You guys should really see Lang Lang play this piece.

Just stop. This is so much more refined than Bang Bang. Bang Bang absolutely beats the hell out of this piece with an arrogance and pomposity that is hard to stomach.

Why so severely TRUNCATED? Also it sound rushed. The tempo is not steady. The Polonaise is supposed to be a STATELY COURT DANCE. This performance lacks the aura of dignity, grandeur and nobility this piece is meant to have. Chopin's Opus 53 not really all that hard to play, so I suspect these young super virtuosi give it short shrift in hopes of using it as a 'cheap shot" with ignorant audiences. This young man has abundant technique, but I feel that instead of using it to revel in the joy and beauty of the music, he's PUSHING himself TOO HARD to "beat the competition."

Some people never listen, some never see, apparently there's a lot of people who also don't read.

Yundi has completely disregarded what Chopin's intentions for this piece was. These pieces were his memories of his Polish home. Yundi not only ignored dynamic marking, but is totally ignorant to how this piece should be played.

Jonah Patuto. Show him please. As Salieri would say “too many notes”. And Mozart’s response “which ones do you suggest to remove?”

I'm very disappointed that Yundi Li skipped a section of measure 49 to measure 100. I don't think it is appropriate for any professional performer to shorten the piece even though not everyone can tell. I do hope Yundi Li would have respected the composer, audience and himself.

+Julie Chen reading the description box is sometimes important. This is a shortened version due to the time limit of TV live shows in Japan
