Guys Yuno got his revenge against Zenon trust me he humialiated him. Also this arc is focused on Yuno , Asta and Noelle. Each member of the triad have a history that linked them with the three main characters. Yuno vs zenon you saw it, Next is Noelle vs Vanica due to Noelle past. Asta vs Dante is due that their own devils have a history.

Just a little detail about the arcane stage: it's not necessarily about devils or being more powerful than stage 0, the arcane stage is about a mage with a magic atribute that can't be measured by power, like Asta, that is clearly a lot weaker than Julius but he can negate any of Julius' attacks with the anti magic if He can react in time. The same for Jack that can cut any spell with his magic.

The thing with levels is the heart's way of quantifying power, led mostly by mana itself as that is what the realm of the heart is focused on. Level 0 is the "strongest" in those conditions and then there is the arcane level that includes strange magic with different or unique conditions or methodologies that make it more difficult to quantify them in just simple power or mana. Example, Yami uses darkness magic and has very powerful and almost instakill abilities on their own. Also the case of Asta, being an arcane level due to anti-magic (which is not even magic xD) but is not comparable to a level 0 captain in combat capacity generally, even so due to the nature of anti-magic, Asta is always a danger if he manages to hit you with it. That is, the levels are actually ambiguous and are not really definitive, they are not like the power level in DBZ where if you are stronger, you are stronger and that's it. We have seen how you can take stronger opponents with strategy, team composition or useful skills on the occasion required.

I wouldnt call finding William being an arcane stage to be a spoiler. they didnt specify it outright but based on the explanation arcane stage magic has unique properties or aspects to it.. Like Yami's dark magic being able to damage devils. So it always made sense for William to be an arcane stage considering he uses "'World Tree Magic" which is completely unique to him as far as we have seen in the series thus far. I believe Vanessa is also consider arcane stage because of Rouge's ability to twist fate

The Heart Kingdom chart doesnt go above Stage 0. Arcane stage isnt a measure of power, it just means you have the ability to damage devils. Nero is both Stage 5 (in terms of attack power according to Loropechika) and Arcane Stage. Asta is both stage 9 and Arcane Stage since he can pretty much oneshot you. Yuno already has an arcane stage ability: Spirit of Zephyr. That spell was made with the magic of Licht and the First Wizard King which both were arcane stages therefore he's able to damage devils with it. Patry after going trough the Dark Elf transformation gained arcane stage magic with the demon light magic. Arcane Stage is also aquired if your power can't be classified or goes against natural laws. For example Langris attack spatial magic has the ability to erase you from existence so that's pretty arcane to me.

Each of the Dark Traid have their own devils like Asta has his own devil. Stage Zero is the highest a mage can get. Arcane Stage is specified as the highest stage that can fight and kill the devils from the underworld. Also yes if their devils from the underworld, angels and god are confirmed to exist. Remember the elves mentioned they worship god. Plus dwarves are confirmed as well since Charmy is half dwarf. Plus Yami homeland,Black Clover has alot of potential and world building

When it comes to arcane stage mages, I understood it as mages capable of using a type of magic or spells that are unnatural, incomprehensible and breaking the natural laws of the world or breaking the laws of physics. - Time magic: capable of manipulating time and breaking the natural laws of the world. - Dark magic: Could be understood as dark matter. Just like time magic, it is one of the universal forces and affects gravity and is theorized to play a part in the accelerating expansion of our universe. Which explains why Yami can cut through dimensions and create black holes. - World tree magic: I don't wanna spoil, but it should be capable of summoning or using the powers of various different world trees from different religions and mythologies, each with different attributes and abilities. One hint was the name of the spell William used in the episode "World tree magic: Budding of Yggdrasil". The tree of Yggdrasil is from Norse mythology, that's all I'm gonna say about it. - Sealing magic: Can seal people away for 500 years. Can open doors to different realms (like in the shadow palace). Can seal injuries. Can preserve human bodies and souls for centuries by petrifying them, etc. But people can become arcane with just a single new spell.

Zenons scene was sooooo bland in the anime. It looked INSANE in the manga. When he attacked them and "killed" Yuno, his face was scary, he looked like a psycho and the art was crazy, The anime sadly butchered this moment. please check the panels of the manga. Check the chapters of this Episode, it was chapter 238 and 239, I think. If I were u I would even check previous chapters. Other than that; the episode was okay, I wish if they just did Zenon's badassery some justice. But I guess not every scene can gonna look like episode 158 :(

Note on what's been said about arcane stages so far: People with standard elemental magic generally aren't arcane. It's because their magic is tied to the laws of of nature and it takes unnatural powers to kill a devil. This doesn't mean that anyone with irregular magic can kill a devil with any old attack though, sometimes they might only possess one spell that's arcane (unnatural) and if it's not an attack, even they might not be able to land a killing blow. Makes you wonder if a nature mage could develop a arcane spell if pushed... The reason William's magic is arcane stage because it's not just Tree Magic. It's actually a direct reference to the World Tree, whose branches connect all the different realms of Norse mythology.

Arcane stage means that the person has unique abilities, and because of that he can't be classified in stages 9-0. it doesnt mean that he is stronger than stage 0 in fight

Now I feel like a dum-dum.😝 Also, a little clarification on stage system: Stage 0 to stage 5 are in decreasing order of strength, however arcane doesn't mean "strength", it merely means your magic will work on devils. For example, if you remember Mereoleona Vermillion couldn't hit the Devil's magic back in elf arc, but Asta could. So a mage can be stage 3, but still can harm a devil.

And yep exactly Stage 1 and 0 can't really hurt devils and only arcane stage mages, but what they can do is immobilize or distract the devils long enough for the arcane stage mages to finish them off with their aces

Arcane stage doesn’t mean darkness specifically bro, it means inexplicable/rare/standout magic, Julius is also arcane with his time magic, more arcane stages among the magic knights will be revealed in coming episodes btw

Arcane stage is not necessarily above stage zero. It just means that your magic can affect devils. You have to be stage 1 to even be able to fight a devil. If you're stage zero you can fight a devil well but you can't kill one. You have to be stage zero AND arcane to kill a devil. So one can be arcane but still be too weak to fight a devil (stage 2 and below). Just wanted to clarify. So even if yuno gets stronger, he still can't kill zenon. To become arcane, you have to have been affected by other-worldly magic and/or curses. Arcade isn't really a level, its more-so a classification.
