She’s a gorgeous doll.I love the detail you painted on her body and her head and face.The gold at the end was a perfect change ,looks much richer than the yellow .I also love her beautiful outfit .The overlocked is a great bit of kit and great for materials like her jacket as they always fray badly. .the skirt looks nicer in the gold .Same as with the eyes gives it more depth and colour ,goes beautiful with the jacket .But this shoes are amazing. I love that you guys work together and do the parts you're each best at! sometimes I wish I had an artist working partner to fill in the gaps in my skills, and to have a second opinion too; my skills mainly lie in faceups, painting, sculpting - i struggle with clothes and hair. Not entirely finished the video: But for the portion with Iron burning the fabric, I highly suggest using baking paper to protect fabric from being burned from the Iron. I saw many others doll re-painters like Dollightful and Moonlight Jew do this technique and it does wonders..😁😘🥰

It's just a bad iron. I get using baking paper or such measures when the fabric is fragile, I do that too, but on the ironing board? Heck no. It's already been replaced 🤗

A little tip with those brocade fabrics: put a thin fabric on top or parchment paper. 10 times easier to iron and no melting. I may have done that a few times. XD The face came out soooooo cute. I love the more dystopian vibe this one has.

As a professional costume maker, I have good news for you about your serger! The serger is made to weave the threads together, so you don't actually have to untie your seams to finish them! You can simply pull the excess thread away from the garment and as you do so, it makes a knot itself! And as for the knife, I think most machines have a way to disengage the knife.

If it helps, sergers or overlock machines usually have a way to lock the knife down so that you don't cut the material. It is a lot easier to start the fabric right under the needles that way, avoiding the uneven feeding issue you found on the sleeves. As long as you don't move the cloth too far away from the needles, which makes it not catch enough of the fabric and has a possibility of fraying, it works a lot better for tiny curves and projects that way. I hope this helps!

I think I will try basting hard stuff on my regular machine first so I don't worry about catching pins with the knife. Disengaging the knife on my machine is too much effort 😅

@@Enchanterium it is super annoying! Worth it if you don't have to disengage and reengage it a lot, but definitely a lot of effort if you can work around it. That's a great idea to to a holding stitch on the normal sewing machine first. I usually just put the pin really far away, which isn't as helpful in some situations
