I think fatal strike could be implemented after a successful combo of a certain number of hit. It wouldnt instantly kill, but it would have decent knockback, killing around 100 if near an edge. A TP system could also be incorporated that works like Hero's in order to prevent fatal strike spamming with arts

I wanna thank you for inspiring me to make my own Character Moveset Smash Video. I've been watching you for years and love your videos.This will be the first KZbin video I will have created. I've been really enjoying working on my Paper Mario concept. It's going very well, I can't wait to show you and Chris. I never brag but this will be the definitive Paper Mario Moveset. I've seen a couple, but the one I'm making makes too much sense and uses almost every aspect from all the games like EVERY partner from Paper Mario 1 & 2 & Huey, without having to resort to a clunky transformation gimmick like Zelda and Pokemon trainer, star crystals/spirits, badge moves, ttyd paper transformations, a sticker move, paper jam final smash and a bunch of fitting animations/costumes/victory screens/taunts from the games with the inclusion of an extra attack timing mechanic. It's like Paper Mario was always meant for smash.

Wouldn't Yuri/Vesperia's popularity be a a big point in his favor though? Cloud was the first FF protagonist to not be on Nintendo and he was chosen due to being the most popular. Similarly Ness was likely picked over Ninten since Earthbound actually came out worldwide, and Chrom became the face of Fire Emblem even though they could've made Alm Roy's echo fighter to promote Echoes

Sakurai stated, a character doesn’t have to be recognizable just fun to play with. Yuri is the fan favorite and his personality, design, moveset, and his badass attitude definitely fits in with the roster. Lloyd would be cool, but let’s be honest. Yuri actually has a better chance and makes more sense then Lloyd

I got to say I am really liking that new layout. It adds a lot more personality to these videos. I like the moveset too. I haven’t played Vesperia so I’ve been curious as to what Yuri can do ever since the possibility of him in Smash came to my attention. Nice to finally have an answer. One question though. Usually when a character from games like Tales of has a weapon, it’s usually the most iconic to their story and/or character, like Links Master Sword and Clouds Buster Sword, or the most powerful weapon they can obtain in their game, like Corrins Omega Yato. With that in mind, which Sword and Fist Gauntlet (It looked like Yuri used one in the video so I assume that’s a weapon he can get) would you give Yuri in Smash?

This video is super rad!!!! I loved it!!! I know you said you'd love to see yuri in smash over lloyd but would you do one of these for lloyd? Lloyd, yuri, and guy (abyss) are my favorite characters from the franchise and I would love to see another video of these characters in this format!!! Yuri is probably my favorite personality but lloyd is a duel weilder which is my favorite thing when it comes to weapons. Personally even putting my bias aside of lloyd i believe he is more likely to be in smash than anyone else unless they try to promote the tails of arise game by putting their protagonist in it. But anyways I would love to see your take on lloyd for smash if you'd be willing to make the video!!! Great job again with yuri and I think your take on how yuri would play would be a great way to implement him into the game and I would absolutely main him!!!

Hrm... admittedly not sure how much I like this one. I mean, Yuri is a great character, for sure, but he feels like the popular assist trophy. The flow of this moveset seems very comparable to the Fire Emblem casts' dancing blade moves, but far more freeform. It's a clever concept, definitely, but it runs the risk of "the opponent stops being able to play the game for a few seconds", which STILL hasn't been entirely balanced properly with Bayonetta (she's just a lot worse at it now). And any combo that ends in a free PK Freeze terrifies me. It's well constructed and reverent, that's absolutely sure, but I would REALLY want Velvet Crowe as the Tales of rep, just having a humanoid fighter that strikes like a combo-based Wolf sounds all sorts of cool to me. And for a combo-based Namco rep, I gotta give it to my boy Heihachi, we lack a lot of 'counter into get bodied' characters outside of Incineroar (who was 'buffed' so that he... doesn't really do that anymore all that well), and the man's got combo ability plus power that Ryu can't match and Terry needs pretzels to do. I do like the idea of variable combos, but I think their translation into Smash has not been done well up to this point, and am a bit wary of the current form of this moveset due to that. It's well done, and I'm sure people would love to play with it, but it's probably the last thing I'd wanna fight outside of 'Ness with actual melee range'. With that said, Fury Sparks in Smash, please. Like. Oh my god. Yes. If that's not in I may cry. Already cried at Click Clock Wood and This Is True Love Makin' not being in Smash but. Please.

I haven't played Tales of Vesperia, but I have been curious about how Yuri Lowell would function in Smash and I see him mentioned in very few DLC speculation videos. I notice how Repede fights alongside Yuri so I'm asking this. Why isn't Repede incorporated in any part of Yuri's moveset? Don't get me wrong, I still like it and I think artes being used for combos would be fun to use and pull off in Smash.

In Vesperia, Repede is a full-fledged party member, just like any of the other 8. He could be incorporated, but it wouldn’t be any different to me than having, like, Red XIII incorporated into Cloud. Yuri has plenty of his own stuff.

It can be pretty technical, but there’s nothing stopping anyone from playing him like a regular fighter. Stringing combos together like that is a nice perk, but if you choose not to, a lot of these combos just seem like regular multi-hitting attacks like Yoshi’s Down Air or Meta Knight’s neutral attack.
