Amazing game and analysis as always, thank you, Sam. It seems perplexing how a great like Ivanchuk never became a world champion even in split title era, criminally underperforming at the biggest stage - a title even Vishy Anand seemed to have in the first decade of his career.

If I had to pick among the field of chess analyzers out there, I'd pick Sam Copeland. Sam sets it up, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and delivers a satisfying recap every time!

Key Moments 9:54 Qh1+ then Nh2 then Rg1 is a check mate pattern I will remember! Never seen it before Because black won, can we have the board from the black side for future games?

I have seen this game many times and it helped me to walk my king in the endgame into enemy lines (and i always think about Short's king when i walk my king up the board without being hassled :) ) but i must say that few times it happened not to be a good strategy for me :)

Was 24. Nce7+ what you were talking about when saying 23... fxg3 was the best? The engine says it's +3.5 while gxh4 is +0.6
