6:40 clarification for everyone, those were ryu's thoughts on how the copy technique works. Yuta's never really stated how it works, so the biggest possibility on how he copied it is either he need to learn the technique OR there is no conditions.

Gojo needs the six eyes and reversed cursed technique to truly master the limitless Sukuna needs to chant and be uninhibited to do the world bisecting slashes Takaba has to think he’s funny for his technique to work Mahito has to touch you to alter your soul Fushiguro has to beat a shikigami before he’s able to use them in battle Kashimo has to build up charges And his ct can only be used once . Ryus hypothesis is more than likely correct

Rika probably needs to eat the body part of a sorcerer to copy it OR Yuta can copy their CT if they give him their consent. He copied Uro's CT by eating her arm. He copied Charles and Inumaki CT by asking for their consent since they are allies. That's why he couldn't copy Ryu's laser beam in the same fight with Uro, Rika didn't eat any Ryu's body part and Ryu wouldn't allow Yuta to copy it. Oh, but how did he copy Sukuna then? Sukuna literally amputated his hand in the fight with Higuruma to scape the Executioner's Sword, Rika could have eaten the hand offscreen. Or his Domain Expansion allows him to copy whoever is inside the domain.
