Exactly the same bus is in actual service since March for Red Metropolitana de Movilidad system in Santiago, Chile, but with 214 units. Those Yutong are the best manufactured BEV buses coming from China.

Not here to spread negativity, but autonomous driving is something that will not excite me even a little. First it will take away the joy of the driver, and after that the job itself. I am onboard with all the new safety systems like the mirror cams, the lane support, the various cruise control options, the traffic jam support. All of that is fine, because it lets me perform my job as a coach driver better in regards to safety. But autonomous driving takes a away the joy of driving, it is all about efficiency at the cost of people. I think that I don´t just speak for myself when I say that it gives me a satisfied feeling if people tell me it was a pleasant journey, you drive so well. Because I put effort in my driving and people notice, I have that feeling of fulfilment. I look at it this way, some might agree and some might not, point is technology is needed to support people, taking the step to autonomous driving is a step too far for me.

Also like taxis, it's a fall back for people who lose their jobs Mostly this is about saving on wages for the company. I don't see it as much progress. The tech is highly impressive bit impact on human factor isn't properly measured.

Without a standard signal network for coordination, autonomous road vehicles repeat shortcomings of human drivers. The PRC is definitely set up to establish such a network. It seems willfully ignorant of western and eastern manufacturers to have not done this over the past generation. There was a successful test in the 90's that used a special road lined with transponders to coordinate multiple autonomous cars

As a passenger I am certainly not impressed with the driving . Stopping nearly 1 meter from the kerb. Nose diving into the ground. No thank you 🇨🇳 China, you can keep ‘em.

You should also think of all the citizens who don't drive buses who would enjoy more frequent services for lower costs and have more money left over to spend on other things... such as whatever bus drivers spend their time making when they leave their old posts!

Id rather have Vanhool or VDL than Yutong or specially BYD the order from BYD made Vanhool go bankrupt (and due to more reasons obviously 👍) now here in belgium we Lost our bus manufacture so i hope that not everything will be from "Made In China" i have no offense to them but i do not like to see a vehicles only used like 3 times and then being on a depot for maybe 3 or more years 🚍🚍🚍
