So you can play Gleaming Lantern with Quick Quill on turn 3. -If your equipped unit gets transformed or silenced, the attached unit KEEPS providing the buffs and keywords. So there's basically no way to get rid of these buffs. :3 So basically Gleaming Lantern is completely nuts and these new cards are all really good together.

It's still an ongoing effect on the base unit, so it get's removed, and the base unit doesn't leave the board first, so the attached unit doesn't get recalled. Except Transform counts as the base unit leaving the board, which would impact Whimsy and Minimorph, but not the Targon and Demacia cards.

If you Mask Mother an attached unit, won't it recall the attacher-unit and the Mask Mother keeps the buffs and keywords? That's a 6 mana play to get a +4|+3 elusive fearsome unit, on top of whatever stats and keywords the base unit had. Next round you can attach the elusive to something else.

So they're a better slow speed grant because the enemy can't cheat out an action like they normally would be able to while a spell is resolving. Instead, it resolves at unit speed, you get it back when you lose the unit it's attached to, and you have the option to summon a body just in case... It's better than a slow spell, has more flexibility, and provides much more potential value with reapplication. I don't see how that's bad at all in control or combo decks. The cool thing about it is that if you have a combo and it doesn't work the first time, you don't have to draw 2 different things to pull it off again. Also... Fiora isn't a deck that needs to swarm have chump blockers. Giving her +1+1 & quick attack for 2 mana is concerning lol. Now we know why minimorph and hush exist The double attack one is good. 5 mana for a 2+2 and double attack? Ez 1 off at the least.

So far only one of the revealed cards has a hand buff effect, for Fae only, and it was already revealed yesterday. Unless there is more tomorrow, that's not much change to talk about. And Freljord hasn't any hand buffs at all so far, so it isn't likely there will be a lot there.

@@Dino_Pony I don't doubt that Fizz works with Pantheon, I doubt that attach units help him doing so. Some of them are somewhat cheap, but they are no spells, and still take up deck space. And as long as Pantheon is alive, you can only play them once on him, and your plan is to not let Pantheon (or which other fated unit you drew and decided to groom) die. Compare those attached units with Zenith Blade, which you can guaranteed cast 3 times in row in 2 rounds, and all on the same unit, if you just drew a single one. The 4 mana burst speed Barrier or Spellshield Friendship spell is way more worrying in that archetype than the Attach units.

Frostbites, stuns and effects that bypass spellshield really clunk these cards e.g. kindred marks, swain triggers, minotaur reckoner, sejuani triggers, ashe attacks and rimetusk shaman. Also pranking cant block onto an attach unit might be funny if they pass on the negative keyword.

What if attached units gained "recall me at the end of the round" instead of instantly recalling when the host unit dies? So when a host dies, the attached unit would be summoned in it's place (either after the chain ends or instantly) and this unit would then be recalled at the end of the round, making it somewhat more interactable if you have some removal options.

I don't believe that's how the stack works. You are thinking "unit is summoned, then Tristana buffs it, then it attaches itself". If the attach triggers during summoning, she only buffs herself for +1 and 1 impact, as there is no unit on board to grant her buff, if she reacts at all without a unit first appearing on board. Needs to be tested, how Riot programmed it.

My unit of choice with Yuumi is going to be Fused Firebrand. The spell shield is key, its going to allow yummy to attach with no counterplay. 7/7 dragon with Fury, spell shield, (If they pop it and you have bastion you can still maintain him on the board with little counterplay, if he survives 3 Attack phases yummy will be granting spell shield periodically.) The only way to hard counter this unit setup is with a BURST spell to take off the spell shield into mini morph [VERY hard to pull off] (any unit with spell shield as a base line keyword is going to be a prime buff target for yuumi.) zzz You can even go Turn 5 Firebrand, turn 6 Zenith + Yuumi what in the fuck are they gonna do about it? Also, with the addition of running two Drakes (FireBrand + WhiteFlame) you can run that hatchling draw 2 drakes card/provide overwhelm for cost efficient card draw. Both drakes synergies SO well with Yuumi

My thoughts on this would just be startled stomper. A big overwhelm unit with 3 health so it won’t get removed easily. Against an aggro deck you could simply leave it as a scaling threat while you spend your resources on other things. Of course stomper won’t be too much of a threat without some other help, and minimorph will kill both the stomper and yuumi.

with gleaming lantern, the fact that attached units recall if the unit there attached to leaves play, ahri being a 2 to drop with yumi being 3, it would give ahri +2/+2 and +1/+1 every turn after and ahri multi attacking constantly like yumi ahri got me far more scared. then add the mourn with quick quill and your getting two recalls constantly while gleaming makes the first fae 2 cheaper and level ahri makes all recalled units 1 cheaper. the only thing i wonder is how god-willow seedling works with it. prowling projectile is also decent with an attacking ahri

Alright... I want to start by saying I love the attach concept. I am a big fan of buffing a random unit into a win con. BUT: Here are some things we mustnt forget. 1) We dont know how to kill attach units yes, we can assume that silence kills them and obliterate kills them and what not. But we don't know. Silence does not kill a unit. It only removes all buffs. Is an attached unit only a buff? Maybe silence pops the unit out, maybe it stays on until the silence is broken. We simply dont know what happens. Worst case attached buffsy are unaffected by silence. Obliterate might also not kill them. Obliterate rips a card, regardless of ITS effect. Not regardless of the effects of the attached unit (we dont know). So attach units might even survive this. We simply have to test these things out. 2) Endless Buffs This one is a nobrainer. Usual buff cards can be used once (some, like zenith blade, have a workaround with that) but attach? Oh, the buffed unit dies? The buff comes back to my hand and I can use it again. 3) Units The best case to state this point is mono fiora. Current versions are fucked if they dont draw fiora. Buff spells cant block. Buff spells cant do anything without units. Attach cards can act as bad units if you dont draw any other units. Your hand is only attach buffs and you dont draw ur fiora? Just play some units, buff these and try to stall. After all, if the units die you recover the other buffs for fiora when you eventually draw them. 4) Are they just buffs? (ouchie) This one kinda goes hand in hand with the first point. When I attach a unit, does the game treat it as just a buff or does it still consider it as a serperate card? We will have to find out... Why is this important? Well, what happens when I make exact copies? Can I print yuumies? What happens with x, what happens with y... Lets just hope there wont be gamebraking weird interactions and if they appear, we all have a good laugh and riot fixes it afterwards 5) The downside Attach units are better than buff spells in any way but two: -They cant use spell mana (duh) -They dont interact with karma and other spell related effects (duh) But since the second point is so nieche and you can work around the first I think the upsides are so much more dominant over the downsides. A few last words... As I said, I love the concept. But I really hope they wont flood the ladder like yordles did. Speaking of which, I am no fan of the fey which turn out to be yordles2.0... But lets hope for the best and it turns out Fiora might have the power of "Friendship" on her side ;p EDIT: 6) On board? While attached units dont take up board space, are they still considered to be on board? Why is that important? If they arent considered to be on board, ruination would kill the unit theyare attached to and then the attached unit will be recalled. BUT if they are on board ruination would kill both at the same time, causing the attached unit to be killed. So the real question is, Are attached units affected by AOE effects and auras? And while Im on the topic, are they considered attacking when the unit they are attached to attacks? So maybe attack attach units? Support attach units? you get the pickture

My bets on meta decks is Yuumi/Garen. Garen with a bit of extra health is hard to kill, Demacia has Field Promotion and Golden Aegis to level both of them fast, and the deck has still the choice of BC or Targon for allies. Yuumi can just start off attaching to cheap units, which can suicide block by the time Garen is ready on turn 5 or 6.

I don't think you can stop the recall if you silence the unit on board (because the keyworld belongs to another unit, even though it's granted to this one) and you can't target the attached unit at any time. Now, it says that it grants the keywords to the unit on board, but even if it gains the attach keyword, isn't the recall tied to the attached unit? I think it's not going to be cancellable in any way and recall will always happen. Btw more recall interaction for Ahri too.

For example, you end up with a stack of units so you only need one spellshield to protect all your assets. As such, if someone kills it, you are punished by having all your stuff removed from play (host dies and the rest goes back to hand).
