So, what I get from this song is that she tries to be happy for others, to help them, but eventually, being surrounded by sad thoughts and focusing always on others, she starts feeling depressed and she can't "wash it all away". Then she starts suppressing her emotions to be able to move forward and still worry about helping other people, but that will probably end up blowing up in her face eventually....

basically a song about being the "shoulder to cry on", so to speak, in a group. feeling like you have to stay happy for others so when theyre sad you can be there for them, even when youre breaking down. least thats the vibe i get from it. might be self projecting a bit, i went though something like that a year or so ago.

It's amazing tbh, I also love how the background is yellow, because yellow means "happy, energetic, cheerful" yet "cowardice" and the title is "happy girl' but the lyrics also bring this melancholy that we try to escape fear instead of face it (did I guess it?). And the instrumentals are so enchanting and beautiful, yet bring this game-y sort of sound. The vocals are also very beautiful, because it synces with the instrumentals and that's a small detail that I love in songs. So good job, I'm 100% sure a lot of people love this as much as I do, keep it up!

@PhonePastry4 жыл бұрын
I honestly feel like the mixing sort of suits the vibe of the lyrics? It leaves me with this familiar feeling of somewhat... apathetic melancholy in the midst of trying to be there for people when they are not able to be there for you. And the like... impact that has on you when you really kind of need someone to be there for you too, but you can't really ask, since they're all still suffering, right? It might not have been the intent, but this really just,, captures that exhaustion, y'know? There's songs for the turmoil but this really fits the burnout and I love it.

I'm really glad you published this. I love how the lyrics contrast with the whimsical sound-- it really captures that feeling of fickle, mercurial "happiness" that comes and goes like liquid, and the feeling of dedicating yourself entirely to someone or something that can't appreciate it-- the kind of happiness that comes with consequences and is almost forlorn in its empty bliss. It's the sensation of trying *so fucking hard* to be positive for someone else, even if you can't keep it together yourself, and that's just... piercing. Heartbreaking and poignant. Masterfully written, and a total bop!!! 💖 It's always a teat to hear your new work! ^___^

I'm so so happy that you published this!! And you definitely achieved what you set out to do; this song sounds a lot more upbeat and light than your works usually do, and it's actually a lot more pleasant than I expected something more cheerful in your style to sound. And despite what you seem to think, the vocals are to die for (though I think the reason they sound a bit weird is because of Yukari's accent, but it's actually kind of cute, so whatever!). Though I will say; maybe it's just me, but are the vocals a little too quiet compared to the music...? I don't know, maybe I'm just being stupidly deaf today. Also, kind of a random observation - you bring up video game-y music a lot in your description. Are you perchance working or planning to work on some kind of game or something? Because, oh my god, I would _totally_ play a game made by Ferry; that sounds absolutely heavenly
@ferry29436 жыл бұрын
Oh man thank you so much, you're way too kind!! The weird mixing is completely on me, I'm not sure why, but it's one of the hardest things I've had to work with whew And on the subject of games, believe me, I've had a lot of ideas, but I'm absolutely inept at programming and I couldn't figure out RPG maker at all... The closest thing to a game I'll ever make would probably be a visual novel though (since making shitty ren'py games was a guilty pleasure of my 13 year old self and it would be a shame to let those mad coding skills go to waste)
@yinyang-p92656 жыл бұрын
@@ferry2943 It's so funny that you bring that up because programming is actually my thing!! Like, I struggle with making halfway decent art and music, but I can totally program a game (guess that makes us complete opposites, ha ha). Pretty sure there are some programs out there that are super duper easy to use which don't require any programming at all that I've heard about but can't list off the top of my head, if you're really interested. And wow, that last part with the ren'py games is honestly the biggest mood I've seen in a while. Ah, the things our thirteen year old selves made...

so i got the idea that the song goes like this yea? so the singer seems to be someone who puts on a happy facade for someone (or a few people) to make them feel better- i think the general theme is that people see her as a happy person however this seems to be with the result of having to repress her own feelings- with the theme of washing away her emotions the point that sticks out to me the most is that she doesnt really seem to want to do this- she states a few times that the whole act of comforting her friend seems to annoy her, and she appears to be almost bores with the whole thing- how she repeats comforting phrases like the weather is fine but she doesnt seem to be able to avoid this position- maybe even feels pressured to do it- and it seems to me that this comes from her friend- who is the one who labels the singer as a happy girl- someone who is there to be happy and comfort them- i think the whole point of the singer referring to herself as *a* happy girl rather than *the* happy girl is the point she feels pressured into her role on- her friend doesnt really see her as a real person- shes just any happy girl- and the singer feels like she might lose her friendship if she tries to express her own feelings- it might also be fear of some sort of backlash from her friend if she presents her feelings- her friend doesnt see her as someone with the right to be sad or emotional- shes a happy girl who should go be happy i dont really know since i didnt write the song but i kinda feel like the other analysis in these comments were kinda shallow and i wanted to point out the idea of this friend being an important concept rather than just the singer so yeah...

I love that aquatic sounds in the instrumental, and the music in general is different than usual but surely really good (although idky it kinda puts nervousness in me. Maybe I’m just weird). Oh and probably the problem in the tuning is just the accent, although I hear something that doesn’t work in mixing too. Whatever. Still well made my dear Ferry, I’m tired of saying “as always” in my comments but that’s the point. There’s not a single song of yours I don’t like, and I think this is bc you have a pure talent. I think the instrumental on this song is absolutely amazing! The vocal melody really works, too. I can see what you mean though about the vocal tuning/mixing. I'd say they work... reasonably well, but like some other people in the comments I think this could be improved with a cover by a different voicebank? The overall sound seems to work for the song, but I saw you mention it would be nice to have certain appends, and I think the vocals would absolutely be improved with those! and tbh I'm... honestly considering covering this song with my own voice, both because I love it and think it would be interesting to hear with a few tweaks, and because I miss singing and would love to be able to work on my own audio editing
