Just wanted to say that I recently found your channel and website and am eternally grateful for these resources you make. Been a longtime math rock fan and used to play bass in several bands over the years. Had to stop bass because of an injury and general nerve pain, so I picked up guitar recently, which thankfully doesn’t give me pain. This is the music I’ve always wanted to play and you really break everything down in such an easy to digest way. So, thanks a ton. Saludos desde Colombia! 🇨🇴

nice chorus/vibrato sound, what pedal is that?
@LetsTalkAboutMathRock3 ай бұрын
Cheers! I was using the Mateus Astao Neural DSP plugin for this video. That one has a chorus/vibrato pedal in it.

Think you'll get one? If you can get to a shop that has one, I'd recommend that first, one to see if you like it. Two, because I've seen a few with horrible looking fretboards. 👍

This feels a little click-baity since all of these techniques are staples of the entire genre rather than exclusive to the one instrumentalist that's currently in the spotlight

Yvette Young is an excellent guitar player. Unfortunately, she seems to attract drama. That aside, her playing style is revolutionary. She has an innate talent for doing little things that most guitar players don't even consider, and that makes all the difference.
@mentatification3 ай бұрын
I think nothing is revolutionary in her guitar playing. Tim Collis has been doing this since forever. But I gotta say, her piano songs are magnificent. Truely something else!
@SmokedHam4443 ай бұрын
Has there been any new drama recently? Last I heard was of course Covet splitting and the bassist and drummer getting replaced, though I don’t know what happened there. She’s been through a lot so I hope all is well now

@@SmokedHam444 Oh... I didn't know that. But I knew she and Mark from Periphery had an affair and some sour things happened after that like... Idk five years ago

@@SmokedHam444 , that's is to what I referring.
@SamBrockmann3 ай бұрын
@mentatification , you can say that, but just because you think that doesn't make it true. Just because someone else did something similar doesn't mean Yvette Young's playing isn't unique and inspirational. What you're doing is comparable to when people said, "Eddie Van Halen didn't invent tapping". No, Mr. Van Halen did not invent tapping. But he did it in a way that made people sit up and pay attention.
