YXZ 1000R Stock Exhaust Mod

Removing the baffle from stock exhaust. Sounds awesome.

I did that to my yxz a few days ago. It's not a spark arrestor only, it's also the db killer. It is very loud after, to a point when the neigbours are pissed of extremely. I unscrewed the "spark arrestor" and left it inside without screws. I added some exhaust whool to give it a good hold just from the end cap. This way u use the spark arrestor but u have basically a leakage. The sound is amazing. Somewhere in the middle between screwed in or totaly removed. Good luck everyone

I added the GYTR filter kit (primary and secondary) after I did this mod and it really wakes up the mid range.

Thank you for this video! I was told to do this to my yxz. How much extra horsepower do you gain? Is it a noticeable gain? Or should I buy a slip on exhaust instead?

Honestly you’re probably gaining more like this then albas spark arrestor setup. Lol. Without time of course because the outlet exit hole is just that more open. Only thing is the end cap will turn brown on you from heat. But you can always paint it with high temp header paint.

Come on look deeper .cut the next plate out the one with 3 peanut holes in it with a sawzall then look down deep u will c the cat 2" round looks like a radiator now get ur long craftman screwdriver out with hammer. Separate the cat around the edge .now u c a tube with holes in it leave that it helps with back pressure. K now start it an smile sounds great if ur lookn 4 sound but doing this gives u more hp and u save your self 800 dollars if u think u need to buy a fancy name muffler. U can't just take the stinger out that only changes the sound big deal do all I just outlined u will feel the difference. And if u want u can thank me for the saving on a new muffler an added hp like I said earlier. Doing this an a couple other tricks u will beat a 6 to 8 pound turbo yxz don't believe me meet me at the dunes I'll prove it.thats y I haven't gone turbo but I'm doing my homework on the super charger.also it already has a header on y buy a fancy name header save ur money but I wrapped my header an guess wat that works don't believe me just ask us racing people. Have fun with ur woke up yxz .remember I said and a couple other things too sorry I can't tell all my secrets on going faster with low budget think N .

Nope, not necessary. It's on the lean side but not terrible. Run 91/93 and you're fine.

+Brad Scanlon Sway bar clamps to keep it from shifting. Otherwise I haven't found any issues. It's an amazing blast to drive, and for my style of riding the most capable machine out there. Built to the highest level of quality out of them all without question. I came from a Can Am and have been around a lot of them. This machine is the ticket.

93mph at the current rev limiter. Can increase the rev limiter to 11,500 and see 100mph on stock sized tires.
