missin you guys! Hope to have more content one day, youtube needs more groups of guys doing car stuff who dont have a million dollars at their disposal. You guys were huge inspirations because you showed that big builds were possible with saving money and working hard with your friends, made me brave enough to take my modified subaru on its first 1000 mile road trip, and showed me the side of car culture I have grown to love til today. Since you guys got pulled over on the way to edmonton and you all had to rev your cars in front of the cop haha. Missing the spirit that car culture is lacking in today, showing that badass builds dont happen because of money, but good times, effort, and laughing with all your friends. Maybe just one more vid for the closure for your fans, still rockin the hoodie. Been missin you guys all goofing off together and shit, take care.

Randomly popped into my head today and saw y'all haven't made a post in over 3 years; I hope it was just the quarantines that made y'all so quiet. Hope y'all are all thriving and healthy rn, I woulda never gotten into cars if it weren't for you fellas. For what it's worth, I'm still rocking the black&mint jet tag on my daily keyset; I bought that thing back in 2017 & man, do I need a new production one! God bless & well wishes from Tennessee ❤❤❤

Great job . I work at an aerospace company that makes carbon fibre engine parts . Looks like you have done your research well . You can fill the voids with a mixture of carbon powder ....and a mixing epoxy called 50a . We infuse parts with expensive tools which is much easier but we still get imperfections and pitting in the parts .

Thing is if you do a vacuum mold. You'll need to leave something inside. Like maybe foam. I myself have been trying to figure out the best way to make a spoiler that isnt flat (like the center piece, its hollow in the inside)

I admire your patience, this took a lot of time to do 🔥 I'm just wondering about the strenght/functionality of it? I don't realy know anything about this but you said in the last video that it's empty in the middle so I was wondering if that makes it "weaker" than the rest of the carbon wings or are they made the same way?
@YYClowcals4 жыл бұрын
Most of the wings are made using the same method - this one is VERY strong actually. I used 4 layers of carbon whereas some manufacturers will use fiberglass to keep costs down (sacrificing strength and increasing weight). This wing is very light and very strong 👌 I'll do some strength testing in future videos!

Dude this is awesome. Nothing beats the feeling of creating your own part. Another better way is to use prepreg carbon the only downside is you need an oven to bake it, you'll get cleaner connections and flawless finish.

For someone who never done this type of work before... well done. You should really look into engendered laminates. Ive made CF parts and wings in a past life and we used many different carbon fiber materials to produce strong stiff light parts. So not how much materials going in but what and where to achieve a strong light part.
@JamesLarson473 жыл бұрын
Easy Composites LTD has some videos on doing carbon fiber parts and if you're having issues with getting the cloth into corners, use much smaller pieces for the first layer and use something with a sharp edge to stuff the fabric into those corners and tight spots. This will prevent those air bubbles and chips that you were having issues with. Other than that, good job.
@86media_4 жыл бұрын
Also you need non perforated release film to do a debulk. It will suck any air out of the part and make sure its stuck in those corners. Use it on the first and last ply

Possibly re-clear or a new layer of resin, it most likely was never clear coated and UV protected :(
