I have never laughed at a you tube video since time began but seeing as I am in the exact same situation as you I had to laugh because I felt your pain and frustration. As of now my fully rebuilt 2002 YZ 250 is awaiting a stator as my last non OEM stator which I may have bought from the same clowns as you was reading slightly off in my 3 resistance tests. Just slightly low- specs say 700-1085 ohms and mine aftermarket was at 596 ohms consistently.from black rd to black . You have given me faith , my spark looks like your original/ old spark- withered and weak. Now my last problem is the good old USPS shipped it from Detroit to Chicago. which I have a problem with seeing as I live in Cleveland. Thanks for th great part 20 and 21 videos, you made my day. :) Enjoy the ride.

"To the point of throwing parts at it". Its an unfortunate reality many have experienced, including those of us with years of bike building behind us. Great looking project, great vids as well. Nice work, and congrats on seeing it through.

Would love to know where my 94 ended up. Bought brand new and rode for 4 years then got a 98 then 00 then 01 now on a 13. Anyway in those 4 years I put more hours on that bike than any other bike I’ve owned. Didn’t miss a race and any weekend not racing we was riding at Livingston in the Daniel Boone national forest. I would say that bike had over 1500 probably 2000 hours on it and never let me down. I did stay on top of maintenance doing a top end 1 to 2 times per year. In those 4 years I replaced every bearing on that chassis at least once. Never had to split the cases and I think it’s just my style of riding that made it last. I like to stay in the highest gear I can get by with at all times while also hammering down some as well. The 94 had a strong low/midrange. Loved that bike. Probably more than the 98, now the 01 motor was awesome. Same as the 00 but there was something they did that made the 01 a monster. Same with my 13 it’s amazing.

Very Nice work man! That thing looks BRAND new! I'm just about to start my very own "Woods" build on an 02 YZ250, I've been using your videos to help get me motivated to start my own! Persistence indeed! Are you referencing the factory repair model throughout this series? That could come in handy, I'll add it to my growing list of expenses. sigh....

I'm glad to hear you're getting value from the vids. I've been getting up to speed on the videos over there on TML - good stuff keep it up! I'm using a service manual published by Clymer; I'd give it an 8/10. I always recommend some type of service manual if you don't wrench on bikes for a living. I look forward to watching your rebuild, I'm stoked to see the finished product; "faster and more scary, and...dumber" :) Ride, Wrench, Repeat

There is a motorcycle God, thank you Lord, great reaction Brittany. I have watched all of your tapes by you and your wife had lots of fun and you together are a great Yamaha team. I will show you my first start up on Yamaha YZ250 if I can get your email.

You just learned a very valuable lesson when it comes to electrical parts for your motorcycle. Buy genuine only. I hear so many people ask why there charging system won’t work on their R1 after they just replaced the stator/rectifier?? My first question did you buy genuine Yamaha or did you buy aftermarket off eBay. Almost every time it’s because they bought aftermarket crap.

Have to remember just because its sparking in free air doesn't mean it will spark under pressure with the problem your having, Even with wrong timing the bike would at least sneeze or kick back!

Do you remember de numbers of the carb jets?
@NWLIFECYCLE4 жыл бұрын
My pipe came with recommended jetting - if I have the carb apart in the next few weeks I'll double check. The service manual calls for Main Jet of 350 (370 in EU). Pilot Jet of 40 (44 in EU). Ride, Wrench, Repeat.
