By far one of the best channels on KZbin. Down to earth with a dash of humor. Keep up the good work!

It's really a shame how some people neglect their machines. It's a tough motor, though!

Love the videos, stumbled upon your channel and I've been binge watching videos every weekend, I think I'm going to run out at some point. Keep making them!

I'm not sure what you mean by the half circles. The plates need to be installed in alternating fashion (friction plate, steel plate, etc.). If you look up your bike on partzilla, they will have a diagram of how everything goes. Good luck!
@yamahafan73304 жыл бұрын
There's also a bearing on the water pump shaft that should be replaced. Especially if the inner seal is leaking. Failure to do so may mean that it will cause premature seal failure.

A very badly treated machine, bloody shame, badly maintained as well :-(( Looks like you are/were catching up on the problems last year, enjoyable video :-))
@jenniesgarage10 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was in rough shape. But that's ok, it made a neat project.
@felixbastien83311 жыл бұрын
It's so much more work fixing other peoples mistakes or neglect than to fix something that's simply failed or that's worn out. That bike is lucky that it fell into your hands.

I have a 2002 yz426 it's been the most reliable bike i have ever owned! And I've owned them all... It's been 4 years since i had any work done on it and she's been a beast but recently my valves finally took a shit but I'm getting my ol girl out of the shop tomorrow with a new top end cost me about 870 bucks but it'll be worth it!

they are good bikes man and they will keep up with the 450's depending on what gearing you run... i need a new carb my throttle position sensor is broke so it dont have the snap that it used too but she still a beast! took it out for a quick lil ride today still breaking in the motor.

4 strokes for the road, 2 strokes for the dirt, makes more sense to me. Just seems like more fun that way too, or am I just a bit old fashioned?...... I might be, cos i can't stand single shock plastic bikes either :D
@Gorbachev9 жыл бұрын
Why the hell do people run straight water in their motors? It ALWAYS rusts.
@MechRider897 жыл бұрын
Not to mention it can turn into vaper and crack cylinders. running less then 50/50 is a dumb idea
@joshdupont22096 жыл бұрын
MechRider89 not really. I'm from Louisiana and lots of people run straight water. Yes it does rust and what not. But it doesn't turn to vapor and crack heads. All 50/50 Is is to keep the rust down and keep it from freezing
@mareksumguy18876 жыл бұрын
MechRider89... get a clue would ya!. Water turning to vapor doesn't "crack cylinders"!!.

You seem to know alot about bikes, are you a mechanic? or did you just learn from yourself from over time. Anyway forward to seeing it run... But In my opinion I think you should of got a 250 2 stroke, they are alot easier to work on and cheaper, plus I think they are the best all around bikes. I own a YZ85 and YZ250, I love 2 strokes... Im currently rebuilding my 250, it needs some work, just waiting for my parts to arrive. Ill subscribe :)

toddlk 186 lol that's not true. I put 145 hours on my 300 before I did the top end. And the piston was still good. Just needed new compression ring. My sxf I rebuilt at 125 hours and it needed a new piston.

ok I love watching your videos but for the life of me I cant figure out why you didn't just swap the engine from the bike without a title to the bike with a title???? Sell the untitled bike with or without fixing all the issues with the engine.
