I would love to have the BRC 500. I mentioned before that I raced 500's for 40 years or so. I sold my 94 CR500 to buy a 02 CRF450. But have built 450's since then. All the time I have missed my 500's! The sound is just incredible and you are going to be blown away Charles when you ride it! Cheers brother.

Thanks William! I’m glad you enjoyed it, and found some value in it! Looking like some very very light shaving of the front engine mount. I will probably take the frame down to our local machine shop to and see if they can re-shape or “push in” a small portion of the frame forward of the engine, just to be safe. About 2 millimeters.

I'm building an 89 KX500 myself. I'm doing everything myself (vapor blasting, zinc plating, cerakote, rebuilding engine, etc). Although I did send out my frame, swing arm for powder coating. Hopefully I will get into that before too long. Been a year+ long project. It's just hard to find the time. Would be interesting to see how much different this thing rattles when it's built. My previous kx500 would rattle your teeth out! I got smarter on this build and had TMR balance the crank :). I'll be supporting and following this build of course.

Raced 500's when I was young and always wanted to see a new technology 2 stroke. I love everything about this build and all the great information while I dream about owning my own BRC build someday. I would absolutely love doing some cross country racing here in Texas on this beast. Currently working on a 92 kx 500 build and I saw several things in that bolt kit that would come in handy. I might need to get one of those.

Thank you, Tim! I’m talking with motocross action regarding a test on this when it’s done. Over the pond, it seems those guys are loving the aluminum frame version and lack of vibration with the counter balancer Stoked to see this kit come with complete exhaust and common where parts such as the CR 500 piston. One thing is for sure, it’s getting written, and no more ”soft” endings with these builds. Just one of the things to tweak and make better as these contests continue.

lets go! There was a big thread some where I cant seem to find but it explains all of what parts are useable for different years regarding triple clamps. 09 250f top tree fit perfect with my lower 06 tree so i can could use the front mounting hole for the bars. arms are too damn long lol

Hahahahaha- I want to say it's ThumperTalk? I can't remember either. I did end up ID'ing these forks to be 2005 AOSS YZ/ YZF forks so it was interesting to see that, the stock 03 YZ clamps accepted them, with what I also ID'd to be 2006 upper clamps. Only issue was the width thing with the hub running the fork guard on the non brake side. Tells me that 2005 triple clamps must be just a few mm wider for these big old fork tubes! (not confirmed, but the rub does suggest it!)

Tolerances are so good the cylinder will fit on the dowels unless you have the case center gasket installed.

Can you compare the weight difference between the 2stroke aluminum and steel frames? Now you need 2013> yz250f swing arm, brake hanger, axle, possibly wheel bearings if not after market hub.

We’ve got a similar swap going with Disruptor (the YZ 300 I’ll finish someday!) I do plan to wear the engines before, and after, as it’ll be the only significant weight difference in this particular Build’s case

There sure is, only the 125 engine will fit in your 125 frame. BUT, if you wanted to do this, big bore swap… all you would need to do is find a 250 frame. All of your 2002 parts from the 125 could swap over to the 250 frame. 👍

Should be the exact same as your 250, you’re only upsizing the cylinder and piston as far as I know. You can also try downloading the owners manual on my website for free.

For your bike, I would say, have the suspension, fully rebuilt, and even more importantly, sprung with the right springs for your weight. Pair all of that with a re-valve for your specific riding type. (trails or track) and I think you’ll be a very happy camper after that. Swaps for bikes that are older like that are possible but not really worth it compared to what you can get out of selling the things you have a specifically for you. That will get your bike feeling amazing.

If I won it, it would never get a break, because it would have a Timbersled track on it once the snow flies! I really wonder how rideable it would be given the counterbalancer as well as I’m sure a Billetron carb. I see Hygge makes a snowbike exhaust for this engine! Then the great suspension it will have, etc… people are literally putting triple triple triple Yamaha sled engines in snowbikes😮this would have so much better weight distribution.
