Is your 2010-2013 Yamaha YZF450 coughing and choking for lack of fuel? Similar to a clogged carburetor? No other issues or error codes? Consider changing the fuel pump and fuel filter. This video demonstrates the replacement.

Update. I still found a coughing/choking after this fuel pump install. The root cause ended up being poor fuel quality. I used Starbrite StarTron Enzyme fuel treatment, which cleaned that issue up right away. Then I've used ethanol-free fuel from that point on and the bike has run flawlessly to this day.

Thanks for the video. Would you mind linking to the pump you purchased. Have you seen any issues yet with the aftermarket pump?

I just searched ebay for a YZ450F fuel pump, was like $20.www.ebay.com/itm/INTANK-FUEL-PUMP-FITS-FITS-YAMAHA-YZ450F-2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-/271457994871?fits=Model%3AYZ450F&hash=item3f34284877:g:UVQAAOSwcnpTqfO8&vxp=mtr

I'm guessing your problem was the fuel injector?

Don't think so. Never changed the injector. I determined gummy/jelly ethanol fuel. Just recently had it hiccup a bit again, pulled the fuel pump out and found the rubber hose disintegrating and clogging the in-take filter. Replaced the piece of hose and runs great again. 180 hours, engine strong and valve perfectly in spec.

Thanks. I am trying to do the same thing and have similar problems. I wish the video wasn't shot from so far away though. Next video please zoom in so we can see the tabs etc. You definitely seem handy so I bet you will make more vids. Maybe I will shoot a close up of this myself instead of complaining :)

Yeah sorry about that. The tabs are a pain in the neck, you need multiple hands, or multiple tools to get it apart.
