Beautiful restoration! The Kawanishi N1K2 Shinden-Kai “George,” was the hottest fighter plane that the Imperial Japanese Navy deployed in service during WWII. It was flown by experienced pilots of the elite 343rd Kokutai Air Group. 🇯🇵👍

Hopefully, it is able to fly in the air once again and join the sanctioned event with allies for ready to go for sanction action to Asian allies. Love from Japan 🇯🇵

I was just as fascinated with the design and construction of the timber frame of the hanger as l was with the aircraft. Both were works of art. What a man cave !

N1J2, arguably the best Japanese piston engined fighter of WWII. Beautiful replica!

Translation for English speakers: "A replica of the Naval Local Fighter “Shiden Kai” has arrived at the former Naval Hadano Airfield in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture. This is a recorded video of assembly work."
Looks like the Japanese version of the American Thunderbolt . Beautifull plane .

Happy to see this aircraft made to fly again. Japan built some really wonderful aircraft since the 1910 and we would like to see enthusiasts build the Nakajima Kikka jet fighter and several other examples.

Greeting from IRELAND Great to see an iconic war bird recieving the care it truly deserves Well done
Greetings from the USA. That has got to be the biggest non flying kit plane I have ever seen. I am guessing it was a special build for the gentleman that was sitting in the cockpit. Must have flown them in WW2. Just beautiful.

In recent years I've developed a real fascination with Japanese aircraft. There is just something about their designs which I find alluring. In the west Second world war Japanese aircraft are largely ignored. Which I feel is such a shame. Japan produced some excellent fighters during world war two. The Kawanishi N1K2 George, the Nakajima KI-84 Frank, the Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden and the Mitsubishi A6M Zero.

A beautiful restoration of the lovely Kawanishi NK2! I think that the guys did a wonderful job but if I may I think that the airplane is too well restored to be such a late production that was usually painted with bad quality paint that simply chipped off. The only question is what exactly the Homare engine it is?
I may be incorrect but that looks like a replica made for static display. There’s no real engine under the cowl and the wings look flimsy. Overall a good shape by my eyes.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Bit like the Shiden, 1 of 6 lost going after B-29s, that was fished out of a coastal harbour after ditching. A docu was made in the 70s on it and it was in After The Battle magazine. the pilot was missing after water landing. Now only Raiden, Shoki, Hayate, Hien and Reppu are needed. Wonderful Tier 2 Japanese planes. Love them all.
@MrLampes4 жыл бұрын
They do have one ki-61, also there is hayate in US,they probably have raidens too,reppu was never created.
too bad it's just a static model.. but beautiful restoration nonetheless

Alex Rubio There is an original at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida. The build to static museum piece was performed at Low Pass Aviation in Griffin, GA.
