I've had my Z Fold 2 now for almost 2 weeks, and I legitimately don't know if I could ever go back to a normal phone. I never get that feeling of needing to wait to view a particular thing until I am at a bigger display. And I am definitely using my other tablet and laptop devices a whole lot less. The experience on the Fold is surprisingly comfortable for just about everything.

I had the original fold on day one release date almost a year with no scratches or anything. Until I took it to a Samsung fix it center to get latest updates. The tech poked a minor hole in screen with something. After a few days I had a black dot on the screen. Contacted Samsung. Sent in and they replaced for free under 1 year warranty. Pretty nice. Now I have the z fold 2. Happy but think I'm going to remove protector also. Great review!!

To anyone complaining about the crease: Do YOU ever PURPOSELY browse the web, watch a video, etc on your glass screen phone or tablet and think to yourself: "Let me make sure I have indoor lighting or outdoor sunlight shining or reflecting DIRECTLY on my screen while I use it."??? If your answer is NO, then the crease WON'T be visible on the Z Fold 2 under normal usage just like it's NOT visible on the 1st gen Galaxy Fold or the Z Flip under normal usage.

Just watched on my Z Fold 2. Haven't enjoyed a piece of tech so much since iPhone launch day. The OG phone and technical reviewer! Had to take off the outer screen protector as got a bubble. Like a different screen! Hope some decent glass screen protectors for that come out soon. With a one year old the internal one is staying on for now!

I have gotten used to the main display (outer display) and used it most of the time as a standard Candybar, switching to the secondary display for the "tablet" experience when consuming media that would benefit from a larger display. My desire is a phone that magically transforms into a tablet, and since I can't have a Duo (not available in the UK) and a Huawei Mate XS, I have to make this work for me. So far so good, one just has to reorder expectations and adapt into a suitable workflow. The "good lock" app is so absolutely useful, it has made a big difference in navigation and general use of the device. It's a fascinating experience and a great time in technology to live in. Look at what they achieved in a year since Fold 1, I fully look forward to what comes in the next few years. Nice display review. Thanks.

It's still only generation 2 of the cutting edge of mobile technology and the price reflects that. Foldables will become more mainstream and better as time goes by. Using this phone over the last month, I definitely think this form factor is the future.

If you’re a Samsung user, just go through the upgrade finance program where you pay for half the price of the phone over 20 months and then send it back to be credited the remaining 1000 and you upgrade to the newest phone. That’s if you’re a good phone user and don’t throw it around like it’s your wallet

Excellent breakdown of the display. Regarding the note 20 ultra, since you don't need high refresh rate when watching content, you can create a Bixby routine to auto switch the resolution and refresh rate when opening certain apps. I have all streaming apps open to qhd. Once I close it, switches back to 1080p/adaptive refresh rate. Still would be nice to not have to do that.

@sbcontt YT go to settings>advanced features>Bixby routines>hit the plus icon to create a new routine>set the if condition to 'app opened' and select the apps you want>hit next> set the then condition to motion smoothness and resolution> choose what you want> hit done. Make sure your battery performance is set to no higher than optimized. You'll notice a brief stutter when it changes, but it's fine afterward.

17:28 Look at how much visibility gets sacrificed in the game because of the 5:4 aspect ratio when she opens the Z Fold 2. You see way more of the game world on the outer smaller display thanks to the wider aspect ratio. Samsung needs to hurry up and make a Bi-Fold that has a wider aspect ratio on the inner foldable display.

Erica Griffin I appreciate you taking the time out to make this video. First and foremost, I am interested in the foldable phones, but concerned when their fold about their thickness. How bad is it in your hand while talking on the phone folded? I agree about that the practicality of the narrowness of the phone folded. So if they made it as wide as a Note or a S series would it be too thick in your opinion? Lastly, I have Good Lock on my Note 10+ and love it! I’ve been using it since I believe it came. Ironically, my only gripe with it was on the Note 10+ they took a feature away because they had originally thought it was in Bixby routines and it wasn’t. Since then they have made the feature available in Bixby routines. While I use plenty of gestures with Nova, I ironically don’t use the gestures available for the navigation bar. Instead I created my own bar with Good Lock and actually have 4 button (that do disappear) and 1 button I have set up for screenshots and it makes it easier for 1 handed screenshots. Please respond when you get a chance regarding the thickness when this phone is folded and also others are folded. Thanks a lot!

Miss, Ms. Griffen Who are you? Your awesome in giving tech info on a gadget. Before this Huawei US /China snafu I bought a Mate 20X because nobody had a candy bar 7.2 inch screen phone. I like a big screen phones. Let me be clear I like the Z fold 2 but not the steep price tag. On the flip side Huawei was suppose to come out with a open fold hinge phone the Mate X2. I want that phone how ever Google service would probably not be on it that and I'm so sad about. I'll keep using my Mate 20X. I have been impressed with the UI, battery life, clarity, build quality and quick response updates. Thanks for the Z fold 2 insight.

I am DEFINITELY GOING TO GET THIS WHEN THE PRICE DROPS. It came out for $2000, and after several months it is selling for a little over $1000USD, so once the Galaxy Fold 3 comes out this one should drop down in price. I figure I will pick this up when it gets to $600. As for now I am rocking my Mate 20X which remains a BEAST of a phone, but I think it is time to upgrade as it's been 2.5-3 years and it has Burn In Screen in it. So I think I will get the Xiaomi Mi 11 in a few weeks and then wait for this one. Anyways please look forward to a Long Term review of the Mate 20X, and as well as an unboxing of the Xiaomi Mi 11. I'm loving my Fold2, but having trouble with getting a cases that will bring this device into feeling as a practical and durable EDC... The Spigen Tough Armor Case looks like the case that will suit my expectations, but the delivery projection date, is as soon as early December. Today, Samsung's Amid case arrived from Verizon. The Amid case does fit well, has a kickstand and does give the back of the phone a fair amount of traction.The case is very thin and is only one piece, leaving out projection for the front of the Fold2. The projection from this case is minimal at best and more is about the kickstand and back cover scratch projection. All well, it's something for now! This device naked does challenge confidence when handling and unfolding, but boy oh boy, when I do get it securely unfolded, the beauty of that tablet screen has me feeling good about my efforts and the purchase of this device. Erica, thank you for evaluating the screen on the Fold2 and reporting the technical aspects of the factory screen protector. I have high regards, for your experience, knowledge and tips.

You can also take the protector off and install a third party one. People usually complain about how hard it is to clean this screen protector on it, you could just fix that issue by applying a matte protector instead of the out of box one

I had a fold 2 but sold it because of the hole punch and the lack of optimized apps. I hated not being able to use true full screen and having the black or white side bar in landscape mode... which was the best way to hold the phone with the back half only cases.
