​@@SpinDoctor91 Hey there is an app called the Wave on steam that is about to shut down March 30th and I am doing a show in it for tomorrow, feb 18th at 10pm easter, and I have a huge chunk of the show dedicated to the game for it was what got me into VR and changed my life. I made a dumb joke and I qoute, "Yeah I get VR when Zone of the Enders comes out for it, HUR DE HUR DUR!!!!" Then almost 2-3 days later news came out it was going to be released for VR. It still feels surreal, and part of me wants to say I am lying to you or myself because why would they re-release it, AND give it a vr mode? Either way I am super happy about it.

Yeah, the final battles with Anubis were kind of odd in that none of them felt quite as satisfying as you'd think they should. The space battle would have benefitted from this theme (or a more fleshed out climatic version of it, over the generic one it actually had) and any sense that you were properly fighting for keeps in this stage of the battle.

It's because Anubis is the only Frame with Zero Shift. That alone makes him a hard target and acts as his "Dash" move. I think it's a balancing thing but really means jack when Naked Jehuty is available.

@Matsuba83 The only thing an OF can have a hard time beating is Guren Lagaan, but then again, if you remember Dolores I, the pilot's soul gets absorbed into the OF upon death, thus making it him/her immortal. So with enough time and patience, an OF might be able to beat a guren lagaan.

@Damama Seriously now? Because now you realize Turn A actually can't fight toe-to-toe with Anubis, you have to resort to buster attacks from lightyears away? That's not really a testament of its combat abilities and would be more reserved for battalion strikes. Anubis' warping abilities were wholly based on a mechanism that allows for planetary travel. It pretty much can get to Turn A before that thing is fired

@Damama There is no guarantee that Turn A's ability would actually turn Metatron into dust, so that point may be void. Teleporting shouldn't be an issue as Jehuty and Anubis have Zero shift.

@Damama It really doesn't matter about the nanomachines. if that's so, then why doesn't Turn A dissolve itself? What makes metatron special is it uses the specialties of vacuum and redirection, so the nanomachines may not even reach OF, (once tech for metatron improves enough)

@Damama The reason why I said this debate is old is because it's been brought up in various mecha forums before. Been there, done that. When it comes to the teleporting, it still wouldn't work, 'cuz the Turn A actually teleports its own items and beams based on the radius of the Moonlight Butterfly and manipulation of surrounding Minovsky Particles. No nanomachines or particles inside the Vector Trap barrier means no cheap teleporting. It's that simple.

In addition, Metatron is wholly focused on bending the very fabric of space around it; I don't think 'teleporting a beam into the cockpit' is going to do you any good than mildly amuse the Runner.

@Damama how you ask? Simple. Its ANUBIS. The OF that single handily can end wars. A Runner thats brand new to using Anubis can NOT be touched. IF it wasn't for the mental deterioration that comes with flying that power-house, Anubis would be unstoppable. So Anubis's only weakness? Time That is when fighting a Gundam. That and the wings wont do jack to Anubis due to having Vector traps in its wings, The Runner will just redirect the attack back at the Gundam.

Let me join the discussion. An OF uses Metatron, so it's physical attacks would easily destroy any gundam, and Gundam's physicals attacks wouldn't have much value at all. Besides, OFs have much more mobility, they could easily dodge gundam's attack or create a shield, and OFs energy attacks would, too, easily wipe out gundams. So "realisticly" speaking, OFs win.

@Damama That's because Jehuty's blade and body has a great concentration of Metatron laced in its construction. In canon (i.e. story mode), Anubis was untouchable by ranged attacks (except by Naked Jehuty if you use him, but he instantkills everything anyways). The SSA (Self Sustaining Armor) of OFs are also laced with Metatron, so they actually have a passive space manipulating quality that allows them to bypass these passive barriers at melee range. That's all there is to it.

In story mode, Anubis was equivalent to Jehuty ver 2. It was stated repeatedly stated that Anubis had the zero shift upgrade from the start while Jehuty never received it. Once Jehuty was upgraded with zero shift, it was also stated the winner between both frames would be decided by the pilots skill.

@homey113 I think a more interesting debate would be a battle between any pilot of any era pitted against an OF like Idolo. It didn't have the same concentration of metatron but it lacked a significant AI to control the effects of exposing a pilot to the frame for extended periods of time. It rendered its own pilot incapacitated and went batsh*t crazy with a brutal mastery of its own power. I've often wondered what a frame like Anubis could accomplish without a pilot holding it back.

@Damama This debate is actually pretty old. I'd have ignored it completely if I didn't visit this video often to listen to this awesome theme, but it's gone on for months. Truth is, the Turn A and Anubis are actually pretty evenly matched; it would all depend on the pilots. Metatron's speciality is the ability to bend and compress space, thereby affecting everything that occupies space; including nanomachines and air. So Turn A can't cheapshot Anubis with the Moonlight Butterfly.

Also, idk if Burning Gundam could match Anubis with the Zero Shift, but Gurren Lagann def could, with its abilities to use Spiral Energy to warp and teleport, and basically defy and flat-out break the laws of physics whenever things get hype.

Melona from Queen's Blade, a slime girl with abilities toppling over various characters and is essentially immortal because of her regenerative abilities, and yet she keeps losing. Counting on a regenerative factor in the heat of battle practically leaves you helpless because you'll be spending too much time recovering than defending or attacking

The first two times you have to fight Anubis, the best you could do is minimize the damage by constantly dashing and homing lasers in order to counter his instant burst. Even still his Zero Shift Dash keeps you on your toes. And in the second fight you have to be careful of his own lasers. So imagine having to fight him with no shield, no guns, only 1 subweapon, and no homing lasers!

The fact that turn a can teleport is also due to the nanomachines. given that they take up the space of light years it would be hard to escape a enemy that can attack where ever you are regardless of where you are and you would never see them. thats just the kind of enemy anubis is up against

Look I don't know where the comparison between OF and Gundams came into this post but let's just leave them out pls. This song is a great piece to. It brought back memories of when I first fought Anubis,and getting owned badly. He's not that hard to beat once you figure out the pattern. I just like the fact that Anubis is one of those bosses that will be remembered because of it's entrance before you fight it.

@gamersbestfriend even with zero shift turn a gundam cant be destoryed because it can regenerate any part that gets damaged or lost with the nanomachines that make up its wings. its wings are also capable of extending for a near infinite amount making escaping them almost impossible. Given that the wings automatically destory anything inorganic or not living anubis would have to combat turn a from a distance greater then from earth to mars. lets disregard the colony laser and teleportation tho

I tried to do that once, on the boss battles where it is physically possible to defeat him. Hot dam, I felt like a snail whenever anubis kicked into zero-shift. In boss fights where it's impossible to beat him, you can land one or two strikes on him, but that's it. I took a ton of damage and then the cutscene would always come on.

If you wanna talk about cheap turn A could just teleport its shield and core unit into anubis and activate moonlight butterfly. It would surpass the vector traps and allow moonlight butterfly to be used on Anubis.

Nice discussion about OF vs Gundams. I think there was, maybe, a contest going by the ZoE1 depiction of OFs. But with the way they were shown in 2? No way, they'd run circles around and destroy even the best gundams. They're basically Power+Speed, and Anubis and Jehuty are obscene representatives of their mech class.

Dark History Turn-A is on par with an orbital frame. The only other machine that comes close is the Quan[T]. Full power Turn-A can bend light around it, teleport it's beam weaponry, regenerate from damage, and the full output of the Moonlight Butterfly has enough range that it could hit Jupiter from Earth. It'd be an interesting match up against OFs.

I'm actually very interested in this idea, albeit 4 years late from the OP. How does one even begin to deal with the ridiculous power of Anubis's vector traps? I feel like its depiction the video games was heavily limited by the gameplay mechanics, given the already huge VT potential shown by more meager frames like Idolo. Anubis has SIX dedicated VT generators strapped to its back. The amount of kinetic and radiant energy it can capture and redirect at will has to be downright silly.

I think Aumaan Anubis is just there so Naked Jehuty can have something to fight in VS. Cuz try fighting NJ with something like Vic Viper and you'll quickly realize they were never meant to fight each other. AAnubis is the only Orbital Frame that can take a hit from NJ and still live to keep fighting.

@kaihedgie U think newtypes have dealt with personalities like his before? newtypes that have realized there full power can crush anyone other then a newtype of equal power. regular egos regardless of how strong u think they are have faults that newtypes take advantage of.

lol no this is a debate about gundam vs Zoe and in both i thinkt he competence of the pilots is just as important as the mechs themselves. and how is anubis suppose to beat a force thats all around him for literally as far as he can escape?
