The silent acolyte takes the hem of my garment, and leads me through the expanding halls, to the colossal chamber of The Eye, to behold the vast riot of the world outside. And I am transfixed by its ceaseless change, where the eating become the eaten, even as they eat, and surfeits of light and darkness impose alternating empires of strife between dawn and dusk. The Eye reveals, but it does not explain. I know, but I do not understand.
