This is kinda like the clock situation where sengso said "let's make a clock for the first time in years and let's make it magnetic." Then quit came in and was like "nah try 200+ magnets and incredible speed" this is what Dayan did to diansheng

I really wish there was a version of the Dayan FTO the same size as the Diansheng, I sometimes struggle to do quick hedges and sledges with how large the Dayan is. Still, it's a better puzzle than the Diansheng by some distance The jump in FTO quality this year has been nuts. I got my first FTO in January and getting below 2 minute times was a struggle. My best single time was 1:41 before the Diansheng released. Now I average 40 seconds!

The Dayan FTO to FTOs is like the original Dayan Guhong to 3x3s, leaps and bounds better than older more primitive ones that basically used the old mechanism.

2:52 Small correction, the diansheng does in fact have more than triangle to corner magnets, though these are the only ones that can be seen externally. It also has triangle to edge magnets. The colored cap on a triangle can be popped off (I do it with my fingernail) and the extra magnets can be seen inside.

I already have the Lanlan FTO that I bought a little while ago. For anyone else who doesn’t want to spend the money on another FTO, here is how to adjust the tensions on the Lanlan to make it better. ⬇️ Turn one side a few millimeters and then turn an adjacent side a few millimeters as well. This will create a small hole to the inside of the puzzle. There is a screw on the inside that I would recommend loosening by about 270 degrees counterclockwise. Do this for all 8 sides. This adjustment will not make the puzzle as good as the ones shown in this video, but it will improve the turning somewhat. NOTICE: this will most likely increase the chances of the puzzle popping.

That's gonna be hard. I tried to pry the pieces of my Diansheng fto apart without bending the plastic. It was impossible.

@ well there are 3 FTOs to choose from and you are going to have to use tools to separate the colors and you may need to superglue the pieces back together

Dayan FTO is weird. It definitely turns much better than Diansheng's, but I seriously dislike the size and texture. Aesthetically, it's simply worse across the board. If I wanted to look at it, fiddle, and just enjoy it overall I think the Diansheng is just better. But if I actually want to solve it, the Dayan is so much better that it isn't close.
