Good riding. Damn! You’re pinned in 6th what seems like an eternity on that back straight. Road Atlanta, Barber, VIR, NJMP, and PittRace are on my to do list. I’ve watched those tracks on the AMA Superbike/MotoAmerica broadcasts through the years. I just recently moved to the East Coast/NC from CA and rode many west coast tracks. Hopefully I’ll see ya out there. I’ll also ride with PRE here in NC/SC/VA/WV.

Yeah, it was fun, and the bike pulls nice out of the turns, but it has NO guts up top and 6th gear is way too tall to be useful for anything other than an overdrive gear to save fuel on the highway...

Excellent video. Well done. I've never tracked my Z900RS (std), from aggressive street riding I think I'd have a problem with ground clearance. Scrapes too easy. But for scenic day touring she's great.

Upgrade the rear shock to a good unit with a spring for your weight and it will help keep it from dragging. Also, hang off the bike more, so that you don't have to lean it as far to make the turn... A lot of people have their butts glued to the seat and lean all the way to the edge of the tire.... I am running that pace easily, and still have a little chicken strip left... Between the proper shock and a different technique, it will handle like a sport bike...

@@Daves_Man_Cave My very first track day, 30 years ago, Donnie Greene said he would recommend changing the rear shock and...maybe...a fork oil change, but nothing else. No exhaust mods, no footpegs, bars, and anything of that nature, just put gas and tires regularly, and get track time. So recently when I got my '22 XSR900, the only two mods I made was a Nitron N3 shock and heavier fork oil. And the bike rips at Barber in Alabama. Darn bike is way faster than anything we had 30 years ago...and it has cruise control!

Looks like you are using the stock foot pegs/rear sets on the Z900RS. How the heck can you lean on those. Mine scrapes the pegs in just little lean in my opinion.
@Daves_Man_Cave11 ай бұрын
Part of it is the suspension setup. Making sure the bike doesn't compress the suspension as much... If your suspension sags too much you reduce the clearance...The K-Tech Razor shock sprung for my weight made a huge difference... the stock shock is absolute crap. And some of it is technique. I can ride like that and not even get to the edge of the tire, just by hanging off the bike a lot.
