Since my pal Eadiea discovered Home Free around Christmas we've chased the net and found the motherlode. You gents point to a new direction for country music, which can, as you have shown, accommodate harmonies reminiscent of Take Six without losing its down-home-ness. The harmonic spice, paradoxically, enhances the purity. In fact, you've rescued country music from the murders on music row (c.f. Alan Jackson and George Strait) by showing us who its real friends are: not rock and roll guitars but influences much higher on the food chain that are surprisingly compatible with Country. The arrangements are absolute gems - compositions in themselves, with exposition, development, and always some glorious lift in the last chorus. And the execution is as brilliant as the conception; Even with the scary vocal chops on all parts, this couldn't be done without some disciplined woodshedding, total presence, and an obsessive love of the music right down to its exquisite details and refinements. Exacting as the rehearsals must be, it all comes out spontaneous and pure Country. If America would work together like y'all do, She would be redeemed.

I learned of Home Free after Chris Rupp had already left for his solo projects, so I've been enjoying the comparison between HF with Chris and HF with Chance. That includes the performance of "Colder Weather" with Chance compared to on the Sing- Off, with Chris. (Of course, Home Free wouldn't be there without Chris, to begin with!) I'm glad Chris is pursuing his solo projects, and I wish him all the success with them. I really love Chance, though, whether he's doing a harmony or a solo. I would be perfectly happy, of course, if Chris were to return to HF, but I am REALLY glad Chance is with the group now and wouldn't want him to go anywhere, as he adds a regular baritone that Chris often didn't (since he often did tenor-- not that he couldn't have done baritone). (As a side note, I know now it was Chris and Adam Rupp who are the brothers, but I can't help and chuckle that Adam and Austin look more and more like twin brothers in these latest videos!) ;) Keep up the great songs and video, Home Free, and thanks. All the best, also to Chris!

I first heard this on the Sing Off and I thought Rob was a great choice for the lead .I just saw your performance of Go Rest High On That Mountain Vince Gill sets a really high standard but Rob was more than equal to the task he blew me away. You guys are awesome thank you.

I can never get through his song without crying!!! Reminds me so much of my dad and all the months and years he spent on the road driving long haul and how he missed us when he was gone. The open road was in his blood, and he wasn't happy doing anything else. Simply beautiful! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE FEELS!

There is a new one for this song. Not as funny but they still mess up during this year's Christmas concert. It was Nov 11 or 12. Rob messes up and Tim comments :-)

After a night spent dreaming of my ex fiancé, who died 23 years ago, this song has done me in this morning. We split up due to living at opposite ends of the country and being too young to figure it out. We both married other people and had children, he died 8 weeks after my eldest was born. We were both rock and metal fans, but loved a bit of country too. Listening to Home Free always makes me think of him, he would definitely have been a fan!
