Well, I do recall that 'Chicken Fried' was the first tune I heard, and, I'm fairly sure it was a fairly new radio release then... Lemme think more... ... back soon... Ok... I'm 62 now, and my best guess is it was at least a dozen years back... maybe a bit longer... or shorter... call it 10 to 14 years ago... and as for when I became a fan, that'd be by the second time I heard it... Loved it musically the first time... second time when I focused on the lyrics more closely🤯, I became a fan.🥳 The real message I got then, was the very nice 'Hat's Off' to the sacrifices of 'those who served', paving the way for the the way of life we are so lucky to enjoy. At the time, My fiancé's son had just joined the Canadian Air Force, so I suppose I noticed that quick mention more readily than I might have otherwise done so.(My Father was also in the Canadian Air Force, and my Grandmother's 'little brother' gave his life in the Canadian Army back in WW2). 'Free/Into The Mystic', also holds onto a part of my soul for other reasons. (I find it hard to believe I'm actually chatting with you... well, exchanging KZbin comments, I mean. lol) So, when ya comin' back to Alberta? I haven't been able to catch you folks live yet... ...but I so want to!!!🙃✌🏼 (I'd name more of my faves and what they mean to me, or why they hold meaning for me, but, I'd pretty much just be typing a long list of almost all your songs. lol... but, "Colder Weather", and "Sweet Annie" stand out.)👍🏼
