I gotta ask do you have a mic on the inside of your guitar
@TimGuitarLessons2 жыл бұрын
There is a pickup in this particular guitar, but I’m not recording through it… the microphone I’m using is a Rode NT1. It is off screen and in front of the guitar

How long does it usually take you to learn a song like this?
@TimGuitarLessons2 жыл бұрын
Well... keep in mind I've been playing guitar for 25 years, so I have a lot of practice at doing what I'm about to type but, I can learn the chord progression to a lot of songs by just listening to the song one time and knowing as I'm hearing the chords change "oh, that's this chord and then that chord and then it does that chord" and I can play along with it in my mind to learn it. To get the finer points of a song's feel or riffs I'll need to play through the song a few times with an actual guitar in my hands and not just playing it in my mind. This method is true for songs that use basic chord progressions in realms of music that I'm experienced with. I can't intuit freeform jazz or classical music, or complex pieces by ear, and there are several times a song might sound "easy" to my ear that I then realize is freakishly difficult once I attempt it on a guitar. All that to say, I physically practiced this opening riff for about 30 minutes to get it to a point where I thought I knew it well enough to teach it to someone.

I just started playing guitar. What do you think the easiest Zach Bryan song to learn to play would be?
@michaelalvey39152 жыл бұрын
god speed is the simplest song, 4 chords, easy strumming pattern
@Jack-yg9jc2 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of really simple Zach Bryan songs. Heading south, God Speed, Snow, etc. A lot of his songs are pretty much 4 just chords.

@dylongillam47922 жыл бұрын
That’s insane if you figured this out by just listening to the song
@TimGuitarLessons2 жыл бұрын
🤷♂️ I figured out the chord progression just by listening to it… I had a general idea of what the riff was just by listening to it, but needed to play along on a guitar to hammer it out note for note
