I saw the famous Vince Carter contest live but I think this one dethroned that one. Because this one has both finalists bringing new concepts, one after the other, head to head down to the last dunk. And they weren't messing up much either. Vince Carter was the clear winner then. But this contest was almost like watching two VCs go at it.

Ayy Pee I fear that might happen in 2017 if Shaq isn't allowed to judge. Only Shaq had the balls to actually judge the contest. The four other pussies were just laughing at Shaq for not giving every single dunk a 10. Twice. Without Shaq every dunk would get either a solid 50 or a solid 40. Sad thing is Magic and T-Mac were among the other judges. Cribbing each others numbers like cheating school boys. Shaq has proven himself many times before, and again he took the man's role.

The first time I saw it was with Kobe Bryant, I was too young when Isiah Jr Rider did it. When I saw Kobe did it I was hopping around like OMG that's the best dunk ever. Ryan Hughes The only thing is that the level of dunks are so advanced now that it waters down the level of competition. Sure guys are athletic but it takes more than just hops to do what these guys are doing now. We saw for a stretch of years that the dunk contest was getting boring because guys couldn't make all those advanced dunks. Aaron Gordon and Zach Lavine gave us hope though lol.
