THIS is the difference between zach’s tighnari and elliot’s tighnari. zach sat down with the director, they went over the character description and he actually changed his usual tone of voice to match tighnari as a character. meanwhile elliot took the script and- just read it out, maybe added some emotion to it, but now seeing the difference, i am so glad it was changed, tighnari became so much better. i don’t care what anyone says. i adore zach’s take on tighnari.

As much as I liked the first Tighnari. Zach's version feels like his version is closer to the description of how Tighnari is seen by the characters. They say when you first meet him he has this gentle feel about him. And Zach's interpretation reflects that very well. So great job sir. Your version won me over pretty quickly.

It's wrong in the language it comes from. In the language it's in it's logical spellingwise. Not so logical when it comes to phonetic transformations but it's not really such a big deal imo. Names get changed when they're brought into other languages

He's a cast member, so I think whenever he talks about the characters, he has to use Hoyo's "official" pronunciation. I think there was a stream where Anne Yatco said whenever she does the Raiden Shogun voice she's not supposed to say things that aren't the character's actual voicelines, I think it's similar to that.

@@atriyakoller136 actually technically it's 1 of a couple possible pronunciations when it comes to english since there are words like laughter where it's pronounced like an f, or tighten where the gh acts like a silent e and makes the i say it's name, or words like yoghurt where the gh sounds like a hard g. it really depends on the word which is one of the reasons why my 12th grade english teacher taught us that the number 1 rule of english is "english is messed up." either that or #1 was SVO and #2 was "english is messed up." lol

@@atriyakoller136 oh something i just realized about this statement here is that technically this doesn’t work for a lot of the other character names like all of the liyue ones since they are written using the pinion translation method thingy. There’s also the fact that we pronounce Nilou’s name just like how it’s actually pronounced while we say Cyno’s name not like how it’s actually pronounced in its own language (it’s supposedly pronounced keeno) but anyway all this to say the game seems to be inconsistent with how they want to pronounce names.

I think most of the fans are actually pretty alright and mostly decent people (at least in my experience). I think mostly it’s just those on twitter that are more toxic. I loved the old voice since it just hit the right spots, especially that "I HEAR EVERYTHING!" line with the pause on each word. I've been getting used to the new VA, and I can honestly say that Zach did a great job. I still like the old one better, but the new one's pretty good too so I'm not complaining.

The first "Tighnari" that the host said was actually more accurate to the correct pronunciation, I think KR and EN use "Thigh"nari and the CN and JP are "Tee"nari and i think the Arabic is also close "tee"nari but with an unch at the Ti'gh' but anyways, love Zach's work, can't wait for Tighnari to come home and finally join my harem T_T
