Me too. It's the only role on TV that ever really scared me. I loved him as Spock, but Sylar was terrifying.

I loved him both as Spock and as Sylar, and so far Brilliant Minds looks like a great show (albeit with a similar structure as House)

It's so genuine that he's happy he can say he just plays one on TV. "I don't eat brains, Clair, that's disgusting," is always my favorite line.

The doctor that Zachary mentioned was also portrayed in the 1990 film “Awakenings”. Robin Williams plays a doctor who was closely based on Dr. Oliver Sacks and it shows how he discovers a drug that brings back catatonic patients to a normal state of consciousness (at least for a short time anyway). Robert DeNiro also played his main patient.

I was going to say this! Well then, Zachary mentioned Hugh Laurie, who played House MD, who was not big on ethics. In the episode "Son of Coma Guy" House's patient is lapsing into a coma. Thinking this must not be a coincidence he awakens "Coma Guy" played by John Larroquette to try to find some commonality, some exposure his patient had as a child, that the father might remember.

So I've been a fan of Zach for many years. When I was in high school my brother had the box set of the first three seasons of heroes and I absolutely loved him as Sylar. Several years later I came across Nosferatu on AMC and that impressed me even more. Currently I watch brilliant minds and really like this role as well. I haven't seen everything he has done but he definitely is one of my most favorite actors. He also reminds me of a friend I had growing up. He chooses unique roles to play and I hope he keeps doing so. Thank you for your performances over the years! God Bless

A great actor can do many different roles. It is called acting. Sad for those who get type-cast. But Zachary has a diverse acting career and although I've only seen clips of his new show (I'm an American living in Tokyo so I'm limited to what Netflix puts on here), it looks like a great show and some great acting by him.

This is a perfect example. I've seen comments, in the past, where someone clearly did not know how talk shows work. A producer pre-interviews the guest and the blue card on the desk will have numerous items, such as (section title) Has Stories About: (and one line will be) Donna Murphy plays his mother, and they have previous work history. Also, sometimes Seth will give a huge laugh, even though he already knows the punchline

I knew instantaneously that the character was based on Oliver Sachs because of the obvious parallels. His books are great and the stories are hard to forget. I haven't heard until now that this is the case, but it's good to know that I wasn't going nuts and imagining the inspiration.

He pulled off looking like Spock, and the real Spock was in the movie. He could pull off a lot of looks. Great actor. With that nose he could've played Penguin and they wouldn't had needed a prosthetic nose. And he too would've acted greatly.

If Mr Quinto REALLY played a doctor on TV he’d be examining Seth’s voice and diagnosing him. Was he cheering for the Mets?
@rabbit2513 ай бұрын
So I'm not the only one who is wondering about Seth's voice, that he sounds gravelly. I've been wondering if he's sick or as you suggest that he screamed to loud and long. (Maybe that's why Frisbee always looks like he looking for a spot to pee). Seth should see a doctor (a real one, Zach doesn't count) if he hasn't already.

This kind of special-doc drama was available in Japan back in pre-post-2000. So just copied from japan. It is strange to see Mr. Spock from USS.Enterprise to play a special doctor role on earth. But due to the stories are all "japanese style". I'd had them enough. Not really attractive for me to follow the series although I love to see Mr. Spock presents.
