I can relate to him because even tho I love my mom, on my last show, before my last show actually, she sent me a text that said: “yea, I’m in town but I’m not going to your show and I doubt anyone is going because no one listens to your stuff” she ended up coming to the gig but I had to sing for an hour being super heartbroken. And Yours was about when we was trying to get someone to like him, but like he got rejected. And footnote was about accepting that someone didn't like him, and so he put it all on the back burner. It sounds like the whole album is about coming to terms with something that just won't workout in the end. It's like about accepting that it won't workout.

Okay so I got pretty uncomfortable during that part about his family, but I would at least like to think that Zach meant no harm by it. I'm giving him the benefit of doubt because I remember how deep and personal conversations they've had before - maybe that made him think that Conan would be open to talking about this as well? It seems to me like he was trying to create a meaningful conversation, but failed to notice that it wasn't a great idea. I mean, we all make mistakes right? A lot of times questions are cleared with their publicist/ PR rep before the interview. This wasn’t random or forced. And Zach never pressed. Conan answered the question if he wanted to and if he gave a short answer Zach moved to the next question.
