We're getting pushed back to 1440p slowly but surely 😅 Being forced at this point to use DLSS and Frame Gen to play on ultra just for 60fps+ in newer titles. Even with a 4090, this is the issue. I have a 4080S as well, and ran the Wukong benchmark. That was pretty much where I accepted 4k in these new titles probably won't be achievable without dropping some settings.

The issue with the 4060 LP is the requierement for extra power, something that's a major nono unless it's a cumstom build SFF instead of an office PC being upgraded, in which case the next best option (only in performance, not price) is the 3050 6GB LP, and yes, there's still the A2000 but that costs between 200 to 250 used and the performance difference doesn't make the higher price worth it anymore

I recently bought a used 6950 XT since computer parts are expensive as hell in Sweden. Been nothing more than happy with it. For reference, a 7900 GRE costs 509 USD on Amazon, equivalent price in Sweden is 745 USD. I got my 6950 XT for 480 USD and I am incredibly happy with it! Don’t sleep on this card if you can get a good deal on it as it performs almost as good as a 7900 GRE in 1440p.

@@mankenntihn5666 Sure I'll tell you all I know. I had an issue were I'd get no video output, at least not with my dedicated GPU. Instead it defaulted to the internal graphics. I tried all the common tips and nothing worked. What worked for me was updating the firmware. So, check your current firmware in your BIOS to see if you need an update. If yes then hopefully that will resolve it. Other tips: considering it runs quite well there should be no hardware issue. One thing to look out for is the performance switch. The 7900 GRE has a switch to enter low noise mode so maybe that's why you feel something is off. Otherwise check your driver's or fan control. My GPU keeps getting hot while idling which triggers the fans, then cools and the fans turn off again. Quite annoying. But because I run Linux I cant use external programs to alter the fan curve. If on Windows try AMDs software and maybe this helps.

I got an rtx 4060 for christmas. Really good bang for your buck for getting dlss, ray tracing, and path tracing for a cheaper price than other cards. I upgraded to that card from a gtx 1650 super, and the difference is incredible!

I went tier hier, RTX 4070 Super (from GTX 970 😂). I honestly dont understand why it doesnt get mentioned here I think its by far the best Nvidia GPU this gen if you look at the price-performance value. But ye many ppl with entry level GPUs seem to choose Nvidia over AMD because of DLSS and ray tracing performance even though AMD GPUs are often cheaper or offer more VRAM. Really though for AMD to find some solution here to get more consumers getting to buy their GPUs since they can't compete with Nvidia on the same tech

I got the 7900GRE from a 3060ti and the card runs excellent each title I’ve tried gets 100fps or more without any frame generation tricks. Once you apply v-sync some titles can easily reach the 144hz or fps amount such as the finals, destiny 2 and in metro exodus enhanced I have it set to high at 1440p with ray tracing and still get 115fps average which is just crazy for me! I had the worst pc before with a 1060 so these numbers are new to me and I’m happy with the card it’s def great value

I don't think you even need the 7800X3D for the GRE. If you got the 7900XT or XTX, it might need a faster CPU. I went with the 7600X, and it works really well.

Hey Zach, great video as always, but i've always wanted to ask: why go for an rx 7900XTX over an RTX 4080 if they're the same price? Sure, the 7900XTX gives you like 15-20 fps better, but is that 20 fps really necessary? If you go with Nvidia, you get a LOT more features, like Omniverse, Canvas, Broadcast, AI tools, and some of the best hardware acceleration and compatibility in the world for productivity. For instance, in Blender, the 4080 with Optix, as an overall score, scored nearly twice as good as the 7900XTX. No one is really gonna notice that small fps difference in games when you're already running at like 150 fps, but with Nvidia GPUs, you're alwayes covered, even if you decide to do a lot of productivity. Also, some motherboard manufacturers have released beta BIOS with Intel's x129 microcode algorithm, and its doing its job almost perfectly to avoid voltage spikes so far. (I have a 14700k.)
